Terry Murray LA Kings Scout

On the NHL Hour on XM DL just announces that TM will be scouting for us in the east and he has been for the last month. Good to know he will have a chance to help the organization win this cup.

Makes sense cause Terry is still on payroll. So AEG might as well have him do something.

Also Dean didn't want to fire him anyway.

Let's draft some more Terry Murray type players!!

LOL, I actually am happy to hear this. I feel TM did more good than harm but we all could agree it was time for a change.

It sucks to throw someone out like that. I have no doubt that TM worked his arse for us.

I think he will be (or has been) scouting teams for the playoffs. EJ asked Dean about how they will scout for playoffs with not having of a real clear idea of who they'll play. Dean brought up Terry.

You are perfectly correct. He is scouting teams in the east that we might face in the playoffs and as of today has nothing to do with our amateur scouting.

Thinking back to the start of the season (with the benefit of hindsight) DL should have tried to find a way to get Murray away from coaching by "promoting" him to another spot in the org. He's got a bunch of other ex GM buddies hanging around, it probably would have been easy to find a spot for gramps. Then we might have seen what this team could do under a full year of Sutter.

I am fine with this. Hell I would have even been fine for him staying as a defensive assistant, though I like Stevens more. All I want is him to not be head coach, but he could be a good scout.

So I guess it wasn't a firing. Just a "Demotion"?
