Compare if he's getting significantly worse players on average per player that makes it if you want to make that point.

Timmins does not draft worse than average players and I give him credit for that. The problem is that he drafts average players a larger majority of the time. And we are witnessing what average gets us. Not much.

To be fair, he does it with low firsts or later round picks. He had a homerun the last time he got to pick 5th or even 12th. If we get him a couple of top ten picks it would help. Quality outside the top 10 is not that common.

I'm a TT supporter. I think he knows what he is doing. I remember an article in the journal de montreal where Rejean trembly(ithink that was his name) bashes timmins saying he never got great players. Excuse me? Mcdoughnah, max pac, subban and to some extent weber, oh I forgot price silly me!!! Rejean is a joke.

All I know is that TT is young and he is still learning and I hope he stays with the org for a long time.

TT has been given very few extra high-round picks to play with, and has had to do without top three picks more years than not. His hit rate is off the charts, overall, what he's lacking is home runs. What he's also lacking is high end picks. I think he's more than earned a chance to make picks for this team for the next couple of years. But that doesn't mean he will.

Look at the players and the points they have since the 2003 draft. 2006 draft sucked No question. The 2007 draft was a home run imo. In 2008 we have Danny Kristo and stevie Q as notables and only had 5 picks no 1st!! Now it gets tricky. 2009 we have Louis Leblanc playing in the NHL Nattinen in the AHL with Dumont and avtsyn. We also have Mac Bennett who is still playing ollege hockey. The 2010 draft have very good regarded prospects. Except maybe westin im not sure. 2011 draft is to early to tell but we may have gotten a steal with Beaulieu and maybe even darren dietz. With pribyl being a dark horse?

Iff TT is fired the habs are shooting themselves in the foot. I can't wait for the 20112 draft and see who he gets.

If we get a loose cannon GM (ahem...Roy), anything is possible. But then again Timmins picks could also get shipped out quickly if our GM lacks patience.

Exactly. And even though Timmins drafts well, he should of never been allowed to take both the scouting AND development jobs. He's one of the very few in the league who is in charge of both and it is undeniable that he is having issues with the later one. He should just scout, and let the development to another guy who would devote all of his time to it.

this is incredible, TT has done really well with the picks he had. Only time he had some early draft picks he chose Price and Mcdonagh (AK too, but that was his first draft and apparently one scout pushed very hard to select him but wtv..if you take into account Subban,Patches and all the late gems you can forgive him that)..His only error was Fisher, but not ''selecting Fisher instead of Giroux'' like the medias or some people try to pretend...Giroux was seen as another ribeiro (if that) and im sure most didnt want no parts of him, except those who think he was a quebecer because of his name..

I cannot wait to see what Timmins does with 7 picks in the first 2 rounds this June and next June, I hope he stocks up on size and toughness as much as we all want skill and scoring.

I can really see him stockpile the defensive prospects in the 2nd rounds and maybe even take a goalie this summer or next summer.

While I would also love to see what Timmins could do with such a large amount of early picks, I expect the new GM to part with atleast 2-3 of those picks as a part of the mini-rebuild I am thinking we see this summer. For all we know they could even trade this year's first, if they deem the price is right.

Even though the season can't be classified as anything else but disastrous, one thing is for certain... The next 3 months are going to be the most interesting months to follow regarding the Habs in QUITE some time.

In regards to Timmins, well the guy is just a beast. I'm really glad he's on our side, and I really hope it stays that way.

And yet for every Giroux/Getzlaf we missed out on we got a Subban/Pacioretty or a Price.

His work has been great, however how his work has been handled once in the hands of his general manager has been a different story. Ppl complain about our lack of offense, well between Latendresse-Kostitsyn-Kostitsyn-Grabovski that's 4 potential 20+ goal guys. Squandered by the GM(s).

Every single team passes on talent in every single draft. It's in the nature of the beast.

Claude Giroux was drafted 22nd overall in the 2006 draft -- that means 21 guys were picked ahead of him.

Woot, a Burke copy is gonna come in and wreck the future of the team so we can remain mediocre forever. I really hope this is not what happens. The new GM needs to come in and do almost nothing for his first summer and evaluate what he has, and let young players develop further. Really, really hope you're wrong.

Timmins is one of the best and is doing everything in is control. We haven't had and lot of great pick since were away mid of the pack or trading away pick...
He is doing a great job drafting NHL player, it's just to bad that they aren't playing in Mtl, but the worst thing is that we aren't getting good return when sending them to other teams.

He did very well on quality too. Drafting is NOT an exact science, they draft them at 17, there is tons of developement left.

Most NHL teams were wrong about Getzlaf and Giroux.
