How was Morrison looking? Boxscore shows him credited with 3 SOG.

He was great tonight. This might convince Stanley to bring him back next year for league minimum.

With all due respect, I can't figure you out as a poster. You jinxed the shutout, you always predict losses, and you want Morrison back. Help me out here, please.

It wasn't meaningless because now we have to win in regulation and not OT/shootout.

If we won against Wild in regulation/OT tonight, then we could've beat the Wings in regulation, OT, OR shootout.

If we won against Wild in shootout then we could've beat Detroit in regulation/OT and got 5th.(but not shootout)

But instead we need to win in regulation to get 5th now.

Pretty simple - he wants the Hawks to lose and be terrible moving forward.

Yep. This is the best outcome. We dominate Wings all game, they get a fluke goal, then we crush them in OT when Frolik undresses Howard and tears his groin.

Let Detroit and Nashville beat each other up. One of them is guaranteed to go home. If we don't play Nashville in the WCQF, there's also a chance we don't see them or Detroit at all in the playoffs if we advance.

I'm on the OT/shootout win bandwagon.

Not true.

1) Morrison sucks. Don't want him back. Said Stanley Bowman might be fooled though.
2) Don't always predict losses. My prediction record for season is 44-37.

Pathetic, uninspired performance against an inferrior opponent. Looked obvious to me Q didn't want to win this game. And in a game where all you had to do was basically stay awake to get a shutout, we couldn't even do that. Oh ya, and 1 shot on goal in the 3rd period...pathetic.

Did they lose on purpose to avoid the 5 seed?

I doubt it, but the way they played makes me wonder...

Best game as a Hawk by far. Should've been credited with an assist on Hawks disallowed goal and was very close to scoring a goal himself in addition to a bunch of nice feeds.

I can't see the Hawks beating the Wings in a SO, so the late goal/waived off goal effectively took only the OT win for 5th off the table. I don't know what slot is better, so what will be wil be. But I'm happy I don't have to care about a skills competition for 6 months.

That would be a real steal for us. If Toews continues to have concussion problems I think Morrison would be a real candidate for our first line centre and also the team's captain. I'm still amazed the Bowman was able to pull of the trade without having to give up Kane and Hossa.

I think we can do it. Toews is still a big *if* though...

I think Morrison is trying to make a point that if you give him so quality chances he can do something out of it. I'm in no way saying that I want him back next year but maybe he can sprout in the playoffs for us. That would be a great help. Just my opinion though.

Teasing aside, I don't think he's a bad guy or the worst player ever or anything like that...but the reality is, come next season he's be 37 and his play obviously hasn't been great. I simply don't see him adding to the Hawks anything we can't get elsewhere for his skills, for his price point and significantly younger.

Sorry, but given his age, I don't think him adding either skills or intangibles that justify him staying on the roster.

It sure looks like it. Having Kruger and Frolik out there together in OT was a headscratcher.

I'm just glad we don't have to play Phoenix in the first round. Apparently the Hawks forget how to play hockey when the Coyotes are on the schedule.
