He was never anything great. Team infront of him played out of body most of the year. He got embarressed a lot when the shots were not blocked by his teamates.

Lots of blown calls both ways but it was mostly Phoenix doucheing it up.

Glad they're out.

The SCF is LA vs New Jersey.

Obviously it isn't gonna get the ratings a LA-NY series would generate, but it's gonna be fun to watch.

I almost visualize Brown trying to knee on knee Kovalchuk only for Kovy to get pissed and start brawling.

Here's something to think about: if the Devils win the Cup, Marek Zidlicky will get his name on it.

Marek Zidlicky, the second-most hated man in Nashville.

Well... Rich Peverly beat him to it, so I guess I won't be too concerned.

I think the Kings will handle this, though. It's odd. For the first time in a few years there isn't a team that I hate playing for the Cup (Detroit, Detroit, Philly, Vancouver). I would say it'll be a stress-free Cup finals, but as soon as I thought to type that I remembered I am on HF Boards

I'm going to root for the Kings as they've never won the cup and would be the 1st 8th seed to do so. Kings have played the best of all the teams in the playoffs and if they do the same in the final they deserve it.

Brodeur channels his inner Mike Smith on a beauty of a flop.

You know, I'll bet they left the third "e" out of his name on the Cup, too.

I highly, highly recommend listening to the "While the Men Watch" feed for at least a little while. It's...um...interesting? I've had a good laugh.

Intermission is the CBC feed.

Jeff Carter makes it 2-0 for the Kings ... Holmgren held responsible for his stupidity ?

I think he still does those deals.

Poile, however, should've let Wilson go to trade for high end offense.

I don't think those deals are stupid. He got Schenn, Couturier, and Simmonds back, which long term will probably be better. Besides it wasn't lack of offense that did them in. It was Pronger's concussion and Bryzgalov's inability to stop pucks. Richards and Carter would not be the difference on that team

Holmgren's decision to get rid of them was fine. He apparently had good reason, and it freed up money to sign a goaltender, which was their biggest weakness. They could take a hit at center.

The part that blew up in Holmgren's face was Bryz not playing the way he played in Phoenix, which now looks like the classic "your goaltender is a product of the system" case.

I wouldn't discount what Pronger meant to them. Their captain. Imagine us without Weber last year. Their talent up front kept them in the race.

This game never felt like it was in doubt. New Jersey has all the momentum right now.

Hold on to your hats, folks, this could get wild...

It's been so long now, I don't remember if Zidlicky stepped it up in the playoffs for the Preds or not. He's been pretty good this playoff with the Devils, I think he's even playing their top pair now.

You can tell the Preds are growing as a franchise when it seems every season now an ex-Pred is doing something in the playoffs! Can't wait till everyone currently ON the roster puts it together and delivers in Nashville.
