We'd need 3 games to go our way for it to happen. The hockey gods aren't that kind.

After Florida Ottawa matches up better against NYR then anyone. However you dont want to go into the playoffs on a 3 game losing streak...

Team before personal stats.

We need this guy at full force in the playoffs. Not that he is tired, but a game off where he watches it with a bird's eye view may help, as I feel he is struggling in some areas at a very crucial time.

Overall, I don't want a freak injury to any of our star players against a dumb, low scoring, boring New Jersey team if the game's meaningless. If they win, excellent. If they lose and draw NYR somehow, it's not that bad, as I believe that's a better matchup for this team.

Rangers > Bruins

Thats nothing against the Rangers though. They're definitely the better team, its just that we suck against Boston.

Since the Rangers play Washington on Saturday, they can tip the scales as to who they would rather play.
They could throw the game against Washington knowing they would get either the Sens or the Panthers.
Who do the Rangers want to face?

The Rangers are a much better match up for Ottawa, clearly the Sens struggle against Boston and if there is a way to avoid playing them, it would be silly not to take it. Rangers will be a tough series but it would be more entertaining and the Sens would have a better chance to win.

Even if they throw the game against Washington, they could still end up playing them.

If Florida and Ottawa get a point in their last game, the CAPS with end up in 8th, regardless if they win or not.

Taking 8th place in the East also moves us up a few spots in the draft btw.

To me, the answer is clear. If the Sens do face our fear enemies, the Bruins, in the first round, which seems likely, we need a change in the line up. We must bring to battle the only one of our number to have defeated the vile horde of Boston.

Ladies... gentlemen... yes... I am proposing that we... unleash the Lehner!

If we face the Bruins, we'll be out of the playoffs almost as soon as it began. I like our chances (more) against the Rangers.

I would much rather play the Rangers, but if we're going to make any kind of playoff run we have to go through the Bruins anyways.

I believe in this team and am fine with the Bruins or anyone. There is no team we can not beat. We are healthy, experienced and as ready as we will ever be.

Going into the playoffs on a cold, 3-game losing streak is the worst of all options, regardless of who we play.

The teams who do best in the playoffs are the ones who can ride a hot streak into the playoffs.

Shouldn't even be a question, I would rather play the Rangers any day of the week. This whole thing about "be careful what you wish for" is bogus and "you have to beat the best to be the best" is kinda up there to. Going deep in the playoffs requires a lot of good fortune. Even if Ottawa were to beat the Bruins in a round 1 matchup, they'll have nothing left for the next opponent.

I would rather play just about anyone in the east other than Boston in the first round - including the Penguins. Thomas has owned the Sens his whole career. Only other team I'd rather not see is the Devils and that's more out of the fact we've played them a few times already and the whole entertainment factor.

Some teams you just don't match well against, and Boston is that team for Ottawa.

Yeah we must win this last game if we are going to go anywhere in the playoffs, it means everything.

I would not be surprised to see a bunch of players rested for the last game. Konopka, Butler, and Gilroy should all play.

this! plus don't forget that we have veterans on this team that know what it takes to get to the big dance. A lot of our young guys were champions last year and have a lot of confidence. Even if Boston or NY go up a couple goals in a game, our team has shown resiliency all season and the bility to come back in games. Let's get it started, bring on whoever!!

GO SENS GO!!!
