I do not see what you see in Bryz. Fleury has been horrid, but Bryz is right there with him. Are you worried about this guy when you guys play a real team next round?
3 games, 3 wins. However the Flyers let up the first goal every game, I would not be surprised if they do it next game to, they will probably win, but once again, if you play a solid defensive team, it could be dangerous..
I am worried. Being unable to score first is a huge flaw in this team that is currently being covered up by their other strengths. They NEED to work that out or it WILL come back to bite them. It's been going on for months.
As for Bryz, he had been average at best for a large majority of the season. This board has been tearing him apart. In the last few games though (until now) he hand a handful of shutouts and played lights-out. He looks MUCH better than he did in the early part of the season and the games are high scoring so they will keep playing him. I think we are all nervous that he might revert to early season Bryz, but for now, we're all hoping he jumps back on his hot streak when the games settle down a bit.
In the battle of pennsylvania. Another great team effort. Brayden schenn, that young guy has no quit in him. He's in the pens end with 2 pens, and theirs no way the puck is getting out. James Neal, hit on coutts late in the 3rd, at the least a blindside. To disagree with Pierre, no Pierre it was not the hit on giroux, it was the one on coutts, that needed retribution I would send a copy of the tape, on that hit, to shanny. That clown, deserves a suspension, for head shot, intent to injure.
I was really hoping/and wishing Craig Berube was going to hop the boards and take care of business on Neal by himself. He was pissed at Neal, and for good reason.
I like how someone said when the flyers play "a real team" so now the penguins aren't a real team? Weren't people handing them the cup as recently as last week?

It shouldn't matter what other people were saying about "handing the Pens the Cup". It's why the games are played.

I think Flyers fans would be less worried just because you have Bobrovsky as a good backup who could step in and less pressure, Pittsburgh on the other hand....

Bylsma doesn't seem like a bad coach who tells his players to play dirty but at the same time, you're right...he doesn't seem to be good at controlling his players or being authoritative. He lets them play and this is part of it.
Bryz needs to play better although he's making a good amount of situational saves for the most part. However, today he let in a bit too many softies for my taste. Against the Rangers if we play them we'll need March Bryz.....
“I really don't know what his intentions were,” Couturier said. “It's obviously frustrating to get hit like that. I never saw him coming.
“I don't know, maybe it was accidental. The puck wasn't even close. I was preparing to go back into our end and, boom, I got hit. I feel good.”
Laviolette was incensed.
“It’s hard to watch,” he said. “We have a young player on the ice playing some great hockey so, it’s difficult to see that.”
Neal didn’t see it that way.
“I'm flying through the neutral zone, I’m regrouping,” he said. “I didn't even mean to hit him. I don't even know if the puck was at his feet or not or where it was.
“I think we just chipped it. I let up as much as I could and it is what it is.”
Pretty funny when 2 rookies, one being 19 and the other 20 are getting under their skin and oh yeah putting up points too.
I know right...and the dude has the nerve to say he didn't mean to hit him when he launched himself like a circus clown out of a canon....I mean seriously what an idiot.
I was at the game tonight. It was my two sons first playoff game. What an exciting game for them to see!
My thoughts:
The Pens are toast. The Flyers are so far inside their heads, the Pens will have trouble winning shifts let alone games.
The Flyers are so much more poised and cohesive than the Pens. The Flyers young guys are incredible.
Pittsburgh was so dirty it was unbelieveable. For a team with a star player with a soft mellon to go running around taking head shots like they did, they really are taking chances with their franchise. I think they are banking on official protection, and it was very evident they had it. Crosby got away with murder and as soon as someone went after him, the refs intervened, usually to the Fylers detriment, ie the Girouix "fight" where the one linesman jumped in prematurely, by himself and put G at a disadvantage. Another time was when Crosby started garbage with Hatsy along the bench, pylled his hair and got a rough, meanwhile Adams jumps in (third man in?, only if they call it right, a fight with a gross misconduct on Crosby) and attacks Hartsy from behind.
How about that officiating, at least one linesman was clearly on the Pens side. He picked up Bryz's stick which was right next to Bryz and skated to the right faceoff circle and dropped it there and made Bryz go get it. Bryz gave him a "what is that?" look and gesture and had to go get his stick. Then there was the G vs Crosby fight where the Linesman was clearly protecting Crosby.
As I have always told my kids when they complain about officiating, never put yourself in a position where bad calls will cost you a game, never let the officials beat you. Well, the Flyers took the games out of the officials hands and the Pens are done.
well I didnt expect Neal to say I was trying to take his head off.
I was concerned a bit about Couturier being targeted because of how well hes dealt with Malkin.
The Flyers need to continue to play the game the way they have so far in this series. play it fast and physical. Pittsburgh obviously wants to turn this into a no holds barred cage match. Dont sink to their level. Go out and win the game the right way on Wednesday

He's gutless..I don't care about how obvious it is that they are defending the indefensible. I mean was it a surprise when OJ said the glove didn't fit? Fact is they are cowards....they should just shut up and plead the 5th especially on something so obvious. That is my point....
Having said this I am concerned they are going to try and kill Couturier.....I def think Malkin will try to hurt him at some point especially if they are losing game 4 with no chance to come back...
