Dion or Gardiner won't lead us to the unknown territory. Probably a good drafted C will.

"Take that tank nation". Yes, I will gleefully take another Nazem Kadri, who will take atleast 3+ years to develop.

True enough. Maybe my memory is fuzzy but it seems like Gardiner shows a poise that Schenn still lacks. By no means is this a knock on Schenn. He's still very young and I think he will develop into a top 4 D, but there just seems to be something very special about Gardiners play lately.

I assure you I'm not a troll. I feel the same way about the tank fans.

If you're a fan of tanking so much, are you up for completely tanking next season? This draft isn't deep at all in skilled offensive players, more defensemen. Next year's draft is chalk full of skilled offensive players, so why not just cheer for a tank the entire year next year so we can get a 1st line star in 2013?

I doubt it. Some fans are just to deep in leaf kool aid. Top 5 isn't a guarantee at drafting a superstar thus drafting 7-10th is just as good

Absolute garbage. Just be a leaf fan like a marriage for better or worse

if you want the leafs to lose, - go be a fan of another team
World Failures:

When people can't spell simple words. You obviously don't care about this team and are happy in mediocracy for many years to come. I want the leafs to lose (when winning does nothing for us) so that we get a good young player for free to help us in the near future. That's a true fan.

Well you come off very trollish. You also ignored half the post about odds and how they work. Do you know what odds are ? Do you know how they work?

And If this team goes through no changes then **** yea tank next season. This team is pathetic. But I would love to Get Galchneyuk this season and Mikinnon next season so we can rolls a Mikinnon-Galchenyuk-Kessel line. But hey in your opinion drafting Gaunce or a not so skilled forward is a better option

When everyone wanted team to win, Dion pulled off a never-seen-before disappearance act. And now that everyone (including the broadcast crew ) wanted to tank, he scored. FML.

Worse part was that he celebrated as if it was a playoff berth clinching goal.

Yep. The same gibbering, kool-aid drinking monkeys who think it is just grand when the blowhard Burke changes the goal posts every time his failed predictions, horrid management of expectations and other blunders are highlighted for all to see.

Pietrangelo took 3 years to develop, Couture took 3 years to develop. Let's just stick every draft pick into the NHL why' we're at it. It's like some people care about prospect ratings and brag contest about how much future they have on this board, or a race to who makes the NHL first. This board is stupid really.

No, I'm five years old and I have no idea what the word "odds" means. Please explain, professor.

At what point do you NOT cheer for a tanking? If this team isn't in first place, you want them to tank? If they're on the fence between playoffs and not making the playoffs?

You have to work with what you have, and realistically, this team isn't going to purposefully lose games to get a better draft position. Burke would NEVER have it.

These player aren't tanking get over it.

UFA players like crabb can't afford to "tank", do you think anyone wants to sign him to a NHL contract if he would just coast through the last 20 games?

How about RFA's like Frattin,Scrivens, and Franson playing for a spot on the team and a contract for next year.

And for the rest of them why would they tank? Give the team a better pick then in the off-season be dumped to the minors or bought out with lowered chance at a NHL future? All while being blasted by media and fans.

Nothing said here can make the Leafs win or lose so it's pointless for the pro and anti tankers to argue. But ripping apart a rookie who should be with us for a long time is pretty stupid. Maybe the 'Real' fans should spam his twitter and tell him how worthless he is.

It's like everyone wants a player who is going to step in right away next October and be a first liner. Whoever we draft, he's not going to be an impact player for at least 3 years, so what's the rush?
