This isn't really the place, but speaking of 08 defenseman, do you guys think Orlov makes the top 5 this season for rookies? Paced for 25 points, he's had a few farts and some semi-sheltered ice time, but he's showing top pairing potential as an OFD with very good physical play and two way sense, I just don't haev the pulse on the league to say if he's good enough to be mentioned among the best rookie defenseman of this season.

Love him has great potential. You guys have a good player right there. I hope he pans out for you guys.
Atm I would say the other who really impresses me as a rookie defensemen, is Larsson(Pre-Injury from what I know from devil fan friend) and Faulk. Voynov I haven't looked at much so I can't and won't comment, but I would like to hear words from a non L.A. King fan because I do see some biases.
Larsson was probably the best then PK Subban came along and wrecked him and he hasn't been the same since, pretty much up and down after that and now he is a healthy scratch for the last 5 games. I think Faulk might be the best this year but Gardiner is just a beauty offensively.
im have to agree with this larsson was playing like beast until he got hurt
This is the best part:
I don't know a lot of these names, so those who have, I'd like to know which players (according to this list) that you'd select before Gardiner.
Cody Hodgson, C, Vancouver, drafted 10th overall.
Jacob Markstrom, G, Florida, drafted 31st overall.
Vyacheslav Voynov, D, Los Angeles, drafted 32nd overall.
Adam Henrique, C, New Jersey, drafted 82nd overall.
Braden Holtby, G, Washington, drafted 93rd overall.
Not necessarily before Gardiner. You draft what you need most. But obviously only one D-man on this list and he's had a great season of his own in LA.
I think he has been the best, yes. I watch him much more than I get to watch Voynov, so I can't say a ton. But he's been very impressive and I really don't think he's as bad in his own zone as people here seem to think. Just my opinion, of course.
alexei emelin is pretty good. not sure if hes a rookie
he is and he is leading all rookies by a mile in hits, sits in 13th overall and 4th among d-men in only 67 games played. the 3 guys ahead of him have 72 or more. most notable his only 30 PIMs. so he's a clean hitter too. I see him very close to Luke Schenn who leads all d-men in hits this year.
