He led rookie dmen in takeaways, but yeah, I hope he cuts down on the giveaways. We could see a sophomore slump from Jake next season as well.
not trying to crap on you just hate the giveaway crap i hear on here

Put Number 2 on Jake and I could swear I'm watching Brian Leetch, don't go all hyper on me!
I see a lot of similarities.

You didn't need to say this.

John Carlson, Erik Karlsson,P.K. Subban, Brent Burns and Keith Yandle have all had more giveaways then Gardiner this year but he is the only Dman on these boards that gets crapped on for it.

Gardiner was the best rookie Dman this year and if was even close there would be 20 pages of leaf haters on here telling leaf fans how dumb they are for thinking he will be anything more the a 3-4 paring dman.

D-men who carry/move the puck up the ice a lot for their team will have high giveaway numbers, but I think there's room for improvement in that regard for Gardiner. Hopefully he keeps on improving

Jake Gardiner is the best rookie D-man and an offensive stud of a D-Man.

At 20 in his full first season, Leetch had 71 points in 68 games and won the Calder.

Maybe. 2nd most games played and most points. Same amount of time removed from his draft year as Shattenkirk (43 points) and Subban (38 points) last year. Fowler and Carlson from last year had more points as Rookie D men at a younger age. Year before that you had Myers and Del Zotto (both from Gardiner's draft year) with more rookie points than he had this year. In terms of the other rookie D men this year he is older than Faulk (2010 pick), Orlov (2010 pick), Larsson (2010 pick), Cowen (2009 pick), Gudbranson (2010 pick), Moore (2009 pick). He may be better than that list right now but I would say there is a good chance a good chunk of those players will be better than him in a couple of years. Would like to see more than 30 points before I declare him an "offensive stud of a D man" as some have claimed.

People just let us have this one. JG is the only bright spot on this disastrous season.
