The best part is that Kings fans are crying foul here when they actually WON a game BECAUSE of cheating.
Are you being serious or are you that thick? Kings had no control over that clock and did not even know it happened until after the game. On top of that, the clock freeze has since happened in another stadium, it's a technical error. Where as Clowe clearly and intentionally cheated.
As a fan of neither team, I thought this was pretty funny to be honest!
What makes it from being a major problem, for me at least, is that both teams had already clinched playoff berths this evening so even this ended up having a big effect on the game's outcome, it wouldn't have screwed up LA's season.
The thing that bothers people about this missed call over other missed calls is that Clowe wasn't even on the ice. It's something that players on the ice shouldn't even have to think about. Nothing can be done about it now unless Shanahan cares enough to address it, which he most likely will not.
It was a missed call, nothing more nothing less. It did not change the outcome of the game, anymore than any other missed call. It's not like the guy was on a break away.
Huh? It totally changed the outcome. Kings had a two on one rush and if not scoring would have a 5 on 3.

Yeah Couture was so hurt coming back to start that 5 minute powerplay he drew right?
Definitely this, because hockey players are not known for their toughness or durability. Especially during important games close to or in the playoffs.
Some folks need to take some tranquilizers...wow. Refs were just atrocious tonight, missing calls on both teams. Should Clowe have done what he did? No. Was it funny, sure. But still wrong. Just crazy that none of the officials saw that occur.
But honestly, this isn't even about the players at this point. It's about the officiating. You can't miss that call; it's such an obvious must-call that any four of them can make. It's not away from the play, it's not a gray area, it's not even hard to see--a player can't even reach out to the ice like that when a player passes, regardless of contact.
All I can say is, for starters, Stephen Walkom, Brian Pochmara, Greg Devorski and Rody Vaughan shouldn't be working the playoffs... and maybe not working at all, depending on their past records.
Maybe last season I would have thought this but this season refs have let so many automatic calls go, I can't even say they have to call that. I think the Sharks are due a ton of those.
Not the interview I saw. He's specifically asked about the play, and he answers "I don't know what you're talking about". With a little half smile on his face.
Does it matter how it's worded? Point is, players generally don't talk about controversial things that happen during the game. It's not in their interest to bring it off the ice. Nothing chicken about it, it's just how it is. They would rather talk about good plays and politically correct things.

Video replay shows Ryan Clowe (who else) used his stick from the bench to disrupts Stolls play. @kingsvision will have the video up soon.

Fictitious and a very different off-topic scenario. Especially since, we have seen it happen in two other arenas, is a common occurrence, and the NHL ignored it, released nothing from its investigation, and just went on normally by sweeping it under the rug. Would likely indicate that they found nothing devious.
What gets me so much about this play is how blatant it is. I mean, at least with other serious infractions in the league, one could argue someone accidentally hurting someone or hitting someone wrong, but Clowe just reached out, tipped the puck, and brought his stick in so deliberately it is mind boggling. At least with diving, there is usually something to happen that lays the groundwork for the dive, like a stick taps your face so your throw up your gloves and flop around soccer style, but this was just calculated and cold with no instigation. I hope it is at least addressed by the disciplinary board regardless if anything comes of it or not.

#LAKings Sutter on if that should have been a five minute major on Clifford? DS barely pushes reporter Dave Joseph and says 'I don't know? Is that a penalty?' LOL!!!
