Prospects Discuss hockey prospects from all over the world and the NHL Draft.
When was the last time a team drafted 5 of their top prospects in one draft?

It's definitely not the best, but the Flames got Nemisz, Wahl, Bouma, and Brodie from the 2008 draft. Bouma and Brodie are basically mainstays in the lineup now, Nemisz will be up next year, and we're holding out hope for Wahl.

Not prospects, but the Canucks had several players from the first round of the 1999 draft together at once:
Sedins
Kris Beech
Taylor Pyatt
Maxime Ouellet
Five players from the same first round is pretty good, unless of course when its the first round of the 1999 draft. What a terrible year that was.

Edmonton got Hall, Pitlick, Marincin and Hamilton in one draft and they're all considered top 10 prospects, but that's nowhere near close to all top 5 in one draft.

2 out of those 4, the Leafs have acquired from a trade
Colborne for Kaberle
Gardiner and Lupul for Beauchemin
Schenn and Blacker were drafted by the Leafs

Boston gets:
Phil Kessel turns into > Seguin, Hamiltion, Knight
Milan Lucic
Brad Marchand
How's that?
4 Stars - not just prospects all the product of 1 draft - sort of.
Well - 3 stars - 1 likely star - 1 highly touted prospect.

I'm not sure trading counts in this thread.

Columbus drafted Goloubef, Kubalik, Calvert, and Atkinson in 2008. All will be solid NHLers and have already played in the NHL. Atkinson has star potential, great 6th round pick.

If trading counted then the Nordiques/Avs win everything

Hmmm, my mistake, I put drafted...when Coyle was traded for. Then again Gustafsson could be considered a top 10 player now.
