Backstory on Swedish female dress @ Awards presentation

Having watched the awards after each game for the ones in Finland.

Don't recall their female presenters dressing in any sort of traditional dress

However the Swedish ones seem to be in some 1800s farm dress. Whats the background on this tradition.

They're usually called Swedish folk costumes - folkdräkter - or national costumes.

That's just how they roll in Sweden. Here's a nice pic of a typical and trendy city family from 21st century Sweden:

When i read the title of the topic i imagined it would be some super hot swedish blond wearing a sexy revealing outfit. Imagine my disappointment when i saw the pictures.

Before I opened the link I was praying to myself that it wouldn't be the most embarrassing disco clip ever.

Touche.

Didn't know that the video is also popular in Sweden, but I guess I shouldn't be suprised since it gives our loved/hated neighbours a good opportunity to make fun of us.

Agree, we got as sharp top material as them, but they might have some more depth, but we're not running out of hotties neither i'd say.

Damn it all. If only our ceremony girls were more attractive. Now I don't know what to think, perhaps there are no attractive girls left in Sweden? As a guy, I'm so offended!
