Good for your team! Even with a bit of a down season Plekanec is awesome and is a great choice. Works hard all the time and is effective on both ends of the ice, but I'm sure everyone here knows that.

I hope you guys have a strong tourney!

What happened to Havlat, Michalek, Smid, Klepis, Cervenka, Kvapil, Skoula?

Any news from those?

Havlat had injury issues during the season, so he's unlikely to come (even though Hadamczik wants him), Michalek should be on is way (but not confirmed yet), Smid is injured, Klepis, Cervenka, Kvapil and Skoula all finished their seasons today. They should all come except for Skoula who I think said he wanted a break from the national team this season. Hubacek has knee problems.

EDIT: Krejci now free

Havlat and Michalek won't come. Both becuase of injuries during the season (Havlat with groin injury and Michalek with concussion).

On the other side Frolik is confirmed... Krejci, and KHL players are still possible to come.

I'm already looking forward to WC

From available players right now, i'd make these lines:

Červenka-Plekanec-Hemský
Tlustý-Krejčí-Petružálek
Frolík-Novotný-Kašpar
Průcha-Vincour-Kvapil
Koukal

I won't try D pairings, because I never know who plays right/left side Yeah and I'd leave Nedvěd out, but Hadamczik probably won't do that.

I like it. And agree with you about Nedved.

I just hope Tenkrát, Vondrka and Nedvěd will be cuts. I really like Petružálek - Novotný - Kašpar line and I would enjoy watching Vincour - Koukal - Průcha together in 4th line. But it all depends on who will be available tonight.

Who do you think will be goalie no. 2?

It will be tough decision, because they both deserve it, but I think they'll give it to Kovář. I agree with the rest of your post.

What happened to vrana? He was having a great year in the khl, did he get hurt or something? Would be an interesting addition to the national team

I wouldn't mind if we got at least one more D-man. There is still chance for Škoula/Židlický/Kuba.

Yeah, defense will be the biggest problem.
I'm not sure about Skoula, he seemed to me as the worst D-man of our team in last year WHC. And I think he said he woudn't come anyway.
Zidlicky and Kuba would be great, no doubt.

I would still take him over Žižka for example, that was my point btw. too bad Novák has some injury too. I've seen 2 games of KHL final and he was quite impressive.

Well, that's for sure. I don't even know why was Zizka invited.
Novak could've been nice surprise IMO, too bad he's hurt.
I would put there these guys (from available right now): Blatak, Caslava, Kindl, Krajicek, Nakladal, Nemec (+ probably Krejcik or Kutlak)

I think defense is easy to predict - we need Židlický/Kuba, in best case scenario both of them .

Blaťák - Nakládal
Čáslava - Kutlák

are lock in my opinion.

Žižka looked little rusty at first few shifts, but he played fine with Němec after all. Kindl was really nervous and his partner Krajíček didn't help him.

To be honest I would rather keep Žižka who is more responsible in defense than Krajíček. Mojžíš didn't impress me at all in friendly games and Krejčík should go as defenseman no.9 to get experiences.

I'm not convinced by our goaltenders. I really dislike Stepanek's rebound control, with most shots he knocks the puck about a metre in front of him, so that if none of our D-men are there to clear the puck away it's easy pickings for the opponent's offense. I would prefer Kovar as our no.1. Having said that Stepanek played pretty well, our first 2 lines were good, our guys just need time 'na rozehrani'. ^^

I completely forgot that teams can have more than 20 skaters at WC (right?). Well some players I didn't count with will make it for sure in that case.

It's 25 players on roster, in our case it means 3 goalies so 22 players for D/F.

To be honest I'm not very comfortable with Stepanek either, but who else? Kovar is not ready to be no. 1 goalie, he needs more international games (maybe he will get start vs. Italy or if we are qualified) and Popperle isn't the answer.

Your team looks really good. Especially forwards. Might be a serious contender for the gold medal this year.

Fleischmann joining the team?

He played with a broken hand these games against New Jersey so I dunno.

I hope someone can shed some light on this!
