I never liked that imported prank. It's time to start fresh and if something shows, to start our own tradition.
For that matter, I would like to take down the WPG jerseys on our rafters, burn them in a pre-playoff bonfire, and send the ashes down to the Atlanta Thrashers Booster Club. Since the Jets refuse to acknowledge the Thrashers of years past, at least Atlanta can have the ashes of the Jets of years past.
I agree with ditching the whiteout, but unfortunately I don't see that happening. We should do a redout or blackout. Something closer to our team colors.
completely agree, its a tired tradition thats not even ours and has gotten us completely nowhere. I really hope we dont mindlessly do another whiteout just for the sake of doing something.

We should all call the team reps and complain about it
Fellas, I agree, however it is here to stay, it is a "tradition" that will never go away.
Also, if we are going to do a White Out, then at least have our team wearing the white road jersey's so it looks like we are here to support them rather than the opposing team.
I've had my issues with the whiteout in the past. But I really could care less at this point. It's really a waste of time to go on about it. We are the original Winnipeg Jets, whether a few fans say we are or aren't. That's why it's such a big deal to get past the 1st round, and earn their first division title. In fact, we don't need to be taking anything down from the rafters, we need to add a banner for once, like a freaking division title banner.
ASU does the black out, and I really really hope they fulfill the vision for the canopy over the stadium, and the less seats. I think with the mountain side, and the cannopy, that place could get really really loud if they fill the place and everyone is screaming.
I don't know if I like the term "red out" - but if everyone wore red, it would look pretty awesome. Our team on the ice wears red more often than not, so I don't see why we shouldn't go with that.
I've heard it mentioned that the goalies don't like "black outs" because it makes it hard for them to see the puck (When it's off the ice a bit, most likely) and "white outs make it easier.
We could do a half and half. Bring a white and black shirt, south side of the arena wears white and north side wears black in periods 1 and 3. South side of the arena wears black and north side wears white in period 2.
It will never happen, but could contribute to "home ice advantage."

HAHHAHA oh my god I never thought of that, that's AWESOME.
I agree, it would be nice to change it to something else. Doesn't Calgary (when they make the playoffs) do a red out? I think it makes good sense for the Coyotes being a predator and you can say, "they are seeing red!".
When the Coyotes score a goal, throw a bloody dead carcass on the ice ala the Florida Rats.
I would love to see something like a blackout. Get the crowd to do the wave and it's a rolling blackout. The Coyotes don't wear enough black for it to make sense however.

Calgary does this in the Regular season too.

Throw the snake! But a bloody dead carcass would be cool too.

LA had a "Black Out" a few years ago, and it made it look like nobody was in the arena. Not a fan of a black out.
Looking at more, it seems that those of your that have a problem with the whiteout not so much for what it is rather more for the hate towards Winnipeg.
I love the Whiteout and this is something no other team in the Valley can touch. The sea of red at Cardinals game I was never turned on to.
