Crosby/Malkin Play Saturday??

Just wondering if there had been any official word up there, as I cant find one. If there hasnt been any official word, what is your speculation?

theres nothing official, my guess is Crosby sits out, Letang sits out, Malkin plays very limited minutes and Fleury plays the whole game.

I'm going with this (except I'd be surprised if 58 and 87 play). They'll probably have to check with Gary first to see if the refs are going to let Geno score his fiftieth.

Malkin scores 10 seconds into the game, then the coach tells him to hit the showers. People on main board make a thread "Malkin injured?" and say he only has 10 seconds icetime. In the meantime TB have a 20 goal game, Stamkos beats Malkin for the Artross getting 12 goals 8 assists for 71 goals to end the season, then somehow wins the MVP, ontop of artross, Malkin gets eliminated in 4 to the Flyers, not getting a single point and "rookies" holding him off.

Reading today that Asham may sit and Jeffrey may play.

Bylsma can't be that dumb, right?

It gets better...somehow Malkin's goal gets waived off 1 day later and he heads back to KHL.

Unless Asham's injured, if Bylsma sits him his job as head coach should be seriously reconsidered.

Well if Philly dresses Shelly, Rinaldo, etc, and Bylsma benches Asham, I look at it like this; if one single player from the Pens gets injured by dirty ****, Bylsma should be immediately fired. No if's, and's, or but's about it. I think they should bench Sid, Geno, and Letang, and call up Mac. But knowing Byslma, he'll probably want to give guys like Jeffrey, Park, and Cal O'Reilly some playing time.

Where did you even read this at? I saw Asham wasn't at practice today. Did he get hurt last night?

The question is who do you play with Sully and Neal sitting. And if Asham is hurt. Guys like DJ have to play. All your able bodied guys will have to play. That doesn't mean they would get their normal minutes though. ie. Sid and Geno

I get that theres bad blood but no one is going to risk injury OR suspension. Even scrubs like Shelley want to play in the playoffs. I could see some Flyers squaring up with Engo or Asham(if he plays) but this game will be very tame imo. I could be wrong but i doubt it.

The Flyers know that if they target Sid or Geno, that Giroux is going face first into the boards via Tangradi or Jeffrey, or someone who is expendable.

They won't do squat.

Pretty sure Malkin was talking yesterday about how he had one more game to get to 50.

I think calling up macintyre for this game could be smart.

I'm ambivalent about this.

I'd love to see Malkin hit 50, but would it be worth it if he got hurt? I'd say play it safe, sit Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Fleury. Recall MacIntyre, Phillys dressing Shelley. Recall McDonald so Sullivan or Jeffrey don't have to dress. Recall Despres.

Kunitz - Staal - Dupuis
Cooke - Vitale - Kennedy
Tangradi - Park - MacDonald
MacIntyre - Adams - Asham

Michalek - Orpik
Strait - Martin
Engelland - Despres

Johnson

I agree. If Asham isn't playing. Rinaldo and Shelley will probably square up with someone. Engo and Adams would be the most likely. I'd rather Mac fight but i doubt you'll see him up.

They are going to play. If they had even minor injuries they'd sit probably, but you don't tell a healthy player to sit.

Geno wants 50 goals. No way he sits. Crosby wants to play, no way he sits.

They'll probably play less than normal but I agree.

If Malkin and Sid play how can you not dress Mac and play Engo. You know Philly will be targeting those guys and seriously if it was reverse I would want Pittsburgh to do it too.

The Flyers, as the road team, have to submit their roster first. If Shelley and a veritble goon squad is submitted you certainly call up MacIntyre. If not, and I suspect neither team wants to risk injury now so this is likely, you treat it like a preseason game. With key players playing only part of the game.

I don't know if enought time would be allowed to call up a goon. I think rosters are submitted an hour before game time.
