I just remember hearing about it out of the lock out cause San Jose changed their goal song a year or so after it due to the fact...but obviously changed right back the next season.

Hey Stars fans,

Red Wings fan here. I was wondering, what would it take from Detroit's side to bring Loui Eriksson to the Motor City?

wouldn't happen. Eriksson has 4 years left on his contract with team-friendly terms of compensation. No reason to trade him until the last year of that deal.

Sorry, friend.
Benn gets traded before he does, IMO.

Gully on NHLNetwork Radio. Said the stuff we all know about everyone already (including the Baby Stars), but one thing did stand out.

He said Morrow was 100% healthy and looked the best he's seen him as a coach so far this year. No idea if he's just talking him up or not, but its possibly a good sign.

Well it's only been a week and a half, so that's not saying much.

We've heard the same thing for three off seasons.

It would probably take something more like nyquist and Ouellet and a 1st to even start talking about moving loui

I wouldn't do that trade. I don't think you trade a Loui Eriksson or a Jamie Benn for another team's spare parts. The only two scenarios I can see Eriksson being traded is

a) as part of a package if another team is shopping around a dynamic young talent for some reason who is clearly superior to Loui, for example if the Lightning are looking into trading Steve Stamkos. That's a highly unlikely scenario and Detroit doesn't have anyone even close to fitting the bill.

b) If it's 3 years from now and we're in the last year of Eriksson's contract and the bottom has fallen off the team and they figure they want to rebuild, they could trade him off for some top end prospects. Detroit does have some top end prospects (Brenden Smith, Gustav Nyquist, Tomas Jurco), but Dallas isn't in the spot where they would consider doing that right now.

So it won't happen.

I wouldn't either but who else do you want from Detroit? Datsyuk is the only one that even comes on my radar and they aren't getting rid of him.

If it's a Datsyuk for Louie trade in the first place then it's not worth doing, due to Datsyuk's age.

We're horrible trade partners when it comes to stars on the team. Plus superstar for superstar trades are very rare now. So the 'spare parts' idea is really actually pretty clsoe to what would happen if that scenario went down.

I'd probably want Nyquist in a trade, he looks like a good one.

I won't post them, but if you're bored later, there are some nice videos and interviews on the official page. Really liked the Nystrom one. There's a 4 minute one of Jagr from today.

Stars just gave season ticket holders 16 free tickets for this season on their price range. 8 for partial.

Extremely smart IMO.

whoa.. that's over half the home games on the year if I'm understanding you correctly.

I don't see any other team doing this sort of thing

Yea just watched Jagr's. Awesome statement of his at the very end basically saying "I don't want to disappoint those people that wanted me."

Anyone else see the full-page, full-color gigantic picture of Loui in today's Startlegram? It's got the opening night date and time against the Coyotes underneath. Marketing department kicking into high gear.

Apparently Stepneski got hired on full time as the Dallas Star's writer? I figured he already was.

Happened over the summer after ESPN released him.

Fantastic move from the organization. Knew Gagliardi was a good player in the lockout, but I didn't think they'd give back this much. Very nice moves.

No I agree, but people on Twitter are congratulating him for something about it today. Very strange.
