Who do you guys think is better Jason Spezza helping Ottawa make the playoffs scoring more than 80 points or Henrik Sedin 80 points but somehow playing better without his twin.

Scratch that I take freaking Kyle Turris before Sedin. Even Malkin would blush at having 80% offensive zone starts. Makes you wonder if he ever met his freaking goalie ever.
So Sedin consistently outscores Spezza on a yearly basis, but the one year Spezza produces at the same rate as Sedin he is considered better? Only on HF. Before people say "Oh Sedins a chocker" Sedin has not only made it further in the playoffs he also has an Olympic Gold medal to his name, and lets not forget his Hart Trophy and Art Ross.
y2k always piles on the Sedins to take some attention off Luongo.
Not even a Canucks fan. Just a Luonog lover.
Henrik is Vancouver's top point getter this season (but it hasn't been his greatest season). Spezza has done more for his team to make it to the playoffs.

The question is not who is better. It's who has done more this season to help their team make the playoffs.

H.Sedin starts all of his shifts 5 feet away from the opponent's goalie... The fact that there exists people who are close to him in scoring should be an embarrassment of the tallest order.
Probably around even. Both are top 10 centers in the league. I'd say top 5, but I think Malkin, Crosby, and Stamkos are clearly better right now, Tavares will be better in the near future, and they're around even with guys like Datsyuk, Kopitar, etc. I've felt that Spezza has always been underrated by HF.
Spezza's definitely had a better year. The Sedins were pretty crappy most of the second half of the year, and while Henrik's picked it up a bit since Daniel's been out, he hasn't been amazing. I'm not sure if it's injury, lackadaisical play due to waiting for the playoffs to start, or simply coming back down to earth after a couple year spike in his (and Daniel's) numbers. I don't think we'll know for sure until after the playoffs and into next season. If they're both going to be around PPG guys though, I'd probably take Spezza since I like the versatility in his offense as he's still a great passer, but a much better goal scorer than Henrik.

People always bring up zone starts, but I've never seen anyone actually give a measurement on how much they matter. Obviously, just by using common sense, one extreme or the other should have an impact over the course of a season, but some people act like if you start in the offensive zone, the whole shift is spent there. With hockey being such a free flowing game with back and forth transition, I question how much it really matters in the end. If you honestly think Turris is a better player than Henrik I think you should pay more attention to the games than the advanced stats.

I wouldn't say consistently outscores Spezza. Look at the 3 or 4 years coming out of the lockout when Spezza had good teams. This is actually a really good poll.

Ummm are you serious?
Spezza since the lockout 494 gp 182 G 540pts
Sedin since the lockout 573 gp 126 G 600pts
Spezza has outscored Sedin in 4 of those 7 seasons lol. He's also younger and been to the cup finals as well.
Not to mention I'd take spezza everyday of the week over Sedin in the playoffs. Did you only start paying attention to hockey when the Sedins got good?

I'll happily take Tavares over everyone not named Malkin and Crosby.

Wow I didn't realize it was so close. I choose Spezza because I believe he is much better defensively and isn't really behind offensively.
