head butting a guy in the face when you are wearing a helmet is the epitome of cheap.
1 game is fine but I would have preferred it if they covered the guy in BBQ sauce and fed him to Mayers without any team mates or linesmen getting in the way.
One game? Pshaw. Kaleta doesn't wear a visor so it wasn't as bad when he got suspended four games for a headbutt into the chest. In the case of Nate Prosser, the Line Crosser, he had not only the impact of the helmet, which is a very hard and virtually impenetrable (unless you went up in a fight against Derek Boogaard) piece of equipment, and then you've got not only the added force but the edge of the visor as well, which caused Jammer to be bloodied.
In the case of Kaleta, he did not headbutt him in the face, so there was no blood. Mayers was bloodied so this should have been 3 games. IMO the two suspensions should have been switched, looking at it.
Get the feeling that if there was more then one more game left in the season, he probably would've gotten 2-3 games for that, but as there's not anything left after tonight, they probably just didn't see the need for a punishment to roll over to next season.
One game is fair. If it happened 10 years ago ejection alone would have been fine.
Sends a message, but it really wasn't a cheap shot with intent to injure. I thought it was reactionary. If it happens again maybe a 3 game and if his teeth were missing 5 games, but a bloody lip with no stiches 1 game is right.
