I hate this league, really.
They should pay Torts for telling the truth, not take his money.

Hopefully Tortorella says something again or doesn't pay. It's time someone embarrasses the NHL.

I posted this on NHL.com...I need to either go lift or have a beer:
Absolute joke that Torts is punished but Orpik is not. Really shows where the league's priorities are; its image in the media vs. player safety.

Brooks called it the "cost of protecting Mario." It is appaling. No punishment for the cheap shot, punishment for the words. Torts' bill is now up to $50K for the season so far.

At least the Philly fine made sense. He called out the refs.
What did he do now? He said that Crosby and Malkin whine. Coaches do that stuff all the time, yet only Cthe golden boys get protection

Apparently you're not allowed to call out the Pens, Crosby or Malkin. Shocking.
Boston stands with Torts and the NYR on this.

If all 18,200 at the next game donate $1.10, that would pay off the fine.
$20,000 well worth it.

The best part is the Pens fans (outside of one or two) still are too blind to admit that the league is biased towards them. ****ing joke. Disgraceful, really.

That's great that Torts gets discipline and yet noone on the Pens does. Stay classy NHL. Not even trying to hide their bias at this point.

Every time Torts comes out for a Post Game interview, he should show up to Goldbergs entrance music.

I don't hate the Pens. But I thoroughly enjoyed his post game rant. That was just epic. And Brooks is defending Torts. How often does that happen?

@jessespector
Does the NHL realize that by fining Tortorella for his comments, they basically proved his point?
Soooo ****ing true!!

The denial and trolling from pitt fans on the main board is hilarious. They might be the worst fan base in all of hockey

That's the difference between the Pens and the rest of the Atlantic division. I actually respect the Devils, Isles, and Flyers and their fans. The Pens are just an embarrassment to the sport. I have no respect for that organization.

lol its just too fitting. He can come out with the spark fireworks and smoke.
Anyway, like Jesse Spector said, fining Torts is basically just proving his point.

No discipline for Orpik or Pittsburgh but they slap Tortorella down for $20 grand. Well done NHL. Like Spector said - proved Torts point.

It's sad. Even if Orpik would have gotten fined, the max he would have had to forfeit is like $3,000. But yet saying bad things can get you $20,000+.
Apparently hurting feelings is far worse than actually physically hurting other players according to the NHL.
