its no coincidence 1 team got called out twice in a week and has had run ins with multiple teams over the past 2 years and the nhl always turns the other way for them, but not the team they wronged...

Wow, the light bulb just went on in my head. The 100k is THE reason El Cheapo Wango didn't bring back Konopka or carried a legitimate enforcer on the squad all season. The guy is more affraid of getting fined then protecting his players. Scrooge.
3 teams, 3 issues with the same team, nhl reacts rthe same way to all 3 teams, heres a BS fine and ****, the pens are always right. we dont care if they injured your players.

torts lavy and the isles all have a beef with the pens and the nhl bias.. its not a coincidence...
FACT: The isles rangers and flyers all have had a player injured by a penguin player via a dirty play.. each team spoke out and fought back against it, and all 3 times, the pens were the ones given the get out of jail free card while all 3 other teams were punished for protecting their team..
He's absolutely right. Screw the Penguins and their double standards. We can hurt you but you can't hurt us because we've had at least one superstar for the last 30 years.

I didn't think he should be fined $20k, but you wonder with the Saints scandal going on, the NHL is taking a hard stance due to the comment about what would happen if the Rangers went after Crosby & Malkin.
Isles bear the brunt of this each and every night. Stand in line ****ing Tortorella.
I understand that the NHL has double standards, but there shouldn't be and they shouldn't be allowed to stand either. Its the double standard that created Fight Night on Long Island last year.
Also I'm not crying. Stop acting like a baby. The league should correct their flaws, not keep engaging in them. We're having an adult conversation here.

Pretty much what I said when Zenon wasn't brought back. He cost the Wang big money. Now we have a team that could win a "Who is the biggest Mary" competition.
I have watched some non-Islander related Pittsburgh games this year. They throw plenty of cheap shots. Kunitz, Dupuis, and Tangredi always seem to be doing something dirty on the ice. I won't even mention Cooke. Yet they are always crying about stuff done to them. Torts may be self serving with his rant, that is true, but the fact is he is still right. Mario can throw a very unmanly "I am going to take my ball and go home" hissy and the league bends over and takes it. No one else can though, and they seem to go out of their way to slap our club even before a word is said.

These comments got him fined for $20,000. I may hate the Rangers, but I agree with him 100%. It's almost like you get penalized for speaking the truth these days.

I can't believe Tortarella got banged 20K for that. I respect his honesty, and he's absolutely right. Orpik is a *****. I never liked him. And Tortarella is right, from the ownership, through the broadcast booth, to the ice, Pittsburgh is THE whiniest!
Honesty like this should be commended, not punished.
he isnt being fined for thinking the hit was dirty, he is being fined for ranting infront of the microphone and saying stuff the nhl feels is damaging their image.
I agree the hit was dirty and agree with the nhl passing out the fine. They are very touchy about what you say in the media. Will always be...torts saying what he said wasnt the most clever move. He was asking for it.
If I was an NHL coach, I'd be in such severe debt.
I agree that the Penguins are whiners, they are the dirties team in the NHL . Tortorella and the whole NHL knows ,the the league has something for the Pens on the other side Tortorella is a hypocrite . he is the biggest whiner !!!
