Why the hell not? I'm bored. If I butchered draft order, I apologize.
1 CBJ: Nail Yakupov
No brainer here
2 EDM: Ryan Murray
They could use the defense.
3 MTL: Mikhail Grigorenko
Need a center more than anything else, kid already plays in Quebec. Great fit. Would probably pick him if they got the second overall pick back.
4 NYI: Matt Dumba
Defense is an absolute priority for them, Dumba should be an elite talent for them.
5 TOR: Jacob Trouba
Burkie loves his Americans, and his policy is defense wins championships.
6 ANA: Alex Galchenyuk
Ducks disregard his injury and hope that he can be their elite second line center.
7 Minnesota: Filip Forsberg
Has elite level skills and compares to Corey Perry minus the agitator style of play. First line RW for the future
8 Carolina: Morgan Rielly
They already have Murphy, a PP pairing of Muphy and Rielly would be deadly.
9 Tampa Bay: Radek Faksa
Maybe not an organizational need per-se, but Faksa is an excellent two way player with Mikko Koivu type upside. He'll be great behind Stamkos.
10 Winnipeg: Griffin Reinhart
Lot's of upside, but probably the most safe defender in the draft. Gives the Peg a stabilizing force on the blueline in the future.
11 Buffalo: Brendan Gaunce
12 Washington (COL): Cody Ceci
13 Calgary: Sebastien Collberg
14 Dallas: Teuvo Teravainen
15 Washington: Andrey Vasilevsky
16 Florida: Derrick Pouilot
17: Ottawa: Pontus Aberg
18: Phoenix: Slater Koekkoek
19: San Jose: Matt Finn
20: Los Angeles: Olli Maata
21: Chicago: Brady Skjei
22: Buffalo: Ludvig Bystrom
23: Boston: Jordan Schmaltz
24: Tampa Bay: Damon Severson
25: Nashville (who has their pick?): Henrik Samuelsson
26: Philly: Tom Wilson
27: Pittsburgh: Dalton Thrower
28: St. Louis: Tomas Hertl
29: Vancouver: Martin Frk
30: New York: Scott Kosmachuk
31: Columbus: Malcom Subban
32: Edmonton: Stefan Matteau
33: Montreal: Tim Bozon (francophone...how bout that?)
34: NYI: Hampus Lindholm
35: Toronto: Oscar Dansk
36: Anaheim: Nicolas Kerdiles
37: Minnesota: Colton Sissons
38: Carolina: Tanner Pearson
39: Tampa Bay: Micheal Matheson
41: Winnipeg: Brady Vail
42: Buffalo: Andreas Ahanasiou
43: Colorado: Lukas Sutter
44: Calgary: Ville Pokka
45: Dallas: Phillip Di Giuseppe
46: Washington: Anton Slepyshev
47: Florida: Scott Laughton
48: Ottawa: Dane Fox
49: Phoenix: Andrey Marakov
50: San Jose: Seth Griffith
51: Los Angeles: Nick Ebert
52: Chicago: Mike Winther
53: New Jersey: Matia Marcantouni
54: Boston: Gemel Smith
55: Detroit: Danill Zharkov
56: Philadelphia: Adam Pelech
57: Pittsburgh: CM Hudon
58: St. Louis: Emil Lundberg
59: Vancouver: Coda Gordon
60: New York: Devin Shore
I'd say 100% I didn't get the second round order correct. I was too lazy to look it up.
Carolina is pretty stocked with defensive prospects, so I think they take Faksa at #8. I could also see them sticking with a name they know in the second-round with Lukas Sutter.
I know you want the Ducks to draft Galchenyuk but there is no way the Leafs pass on him if he is still on the board, and certainly not for a defenseman. If Galchenyuk is gone by the Leafs pick Burke would likely either take Forsberg or trade down and grab somebody like Faksa.
Toronto needs a centre far too bad to pass up on somebody with Galchenyuk's talent even if there are serious injury concerns with him.
LMAO, if Burke passed on Galy or Forsberg with that pick Bell and Rogers would fire his ass right there on the podium, then beg for a redo due to Burke's mental retardation.
