It sure has changed a lot. But there is still a lot of EDM that resembles that. It's just a bit less popular or know as "underground". Indie, deep house fit that style.

I'm more of a progressive house fan.

EDM has come a long way since '90's for sure. But wouldn't be possible without the artists that created that style.
