hopefully i can scoop some tickets to this game, but luckily sam bush and jj gray are playing a free show @ keystone, co. Either way should be a great day
Peks, Captain, and Sutes even make the trip? Even with the possibility of needing a win for home ice, I think just keeping them home (and maybe even Fisherman) should have been highly considered.
I'll be rocking the yellow..er, gold, in section 124 tonight.
If Detroit get's a point, we better go all out to get that fourth seed.
Detroit's not as invincible as in year's past, but they're still deadly at the Joe. You don't want to start first 2 games there and also have game 7 there if possible.

Detroit can only get 4th if they win and we lose in regulation. We have the tiebreaker.
I am pretty sure we go all out if we need a point to get home ice
If it's all resolved by game time, I'd sit anybody who needs rest due to injury and Peks, but I'd go with a mostly normal lineup. If this game actually matters, then I play everybody including Peks to keep him sharp and to give the Preds the best chance of securing home ice.
I understand the idea of resting guys, but don't underestimate the value of one last game to "get into playoff mode" because they haven't shown that mindset yet. If too many guys sit out, or there isn't enough focus and intensity to their game tonight, then they will have too many days off between the last game that counted on Thursday and whenever the first playoff game is scheduled to start. They need to be peaking right now more than coasting through tonight's game or resting too many guys or inserting somebody like McCrappan as a "reward" when guys who will be playing in the playoffs need to find their edge right now.
So basically if Detroit loses in any way the game "won't matter"?
From what I have been told by people who should know, Detroit has to lose in regulation for us to clinch 4th. I'm being pretty lazy today, so I haven't looked.
If McLellan plays we burn a year of his ELC and you know Poile ain't gonna let that happen.
He has a one year ELC that isn't slide ready due to his age. The 10 game provision is only for 18 or 19 year olds, not players considered 24 years old for purposes of signing an ELC deal. His contract expires at the end of this season and he's an RFA on 1 July.

If DET wins this is a very important game. I think Trotz will have some roster wiggle room obviously, but I highly doubt he's leaving any of the key players at home.

OTL works as well since we have a large ROW advantage. If the Hawks want 5th, they have to win in regulation though.
If Chicago wins and we are set in stone, I hope we play some of our permascratches. Leave in AK, Goose, and Rads so they can get more and more comfortable since they just got here. Otherwise, give the scratches ice time. Maybe try some things that we've been curious about (splitting up Weber and Suter). Depends on what Barry wants to do.
