Not only that but only Jonas Hiller played more minutes than Rinne did.

No. Probably Lundqvist and Quick. Rinne may get a nomination but he won't win.

And to be technical, its not a "double-double" because he didn't have double digits in points

Does anyone else think that if Lundqvist played in Nashville and Rinne played in New York that Rinne would be considered the hands down best goalie in the league?

Lundqvist is great for sure and deserves to be mentioned anytime you're talking about the best of the best. But I feel even with that he is somehow overhyped at times. There are probably 5-6 goalies in the league in Rinne's situation where playing in NYC would boost them to godlike status simply out of press coverage.

That's all true I think. A lot of it has to do with market size and media hype. I don't think Weber will win the Norris either. Karlsson will probably win it this year just from sheer number of points, even though Weber is the better all-around player and it's really not that close in my opinion. I think the Preds in general will always have trouble with these popularity contests like the NHL awards.

That said, I think Quick deserves the Vezina this year. I'd put Pekka somewhere at 3-5 this year. His SV% isn't quite what it was last year (still #7 in the league, very solid), but he was an absolute workhorse this year a lot was asked of him and he still played at an elite level. Led the league in Games Played, Wins, Shots Against, Saves, Goalie Points. He was our MVP for sure.

I agree to an extent that in another markert pekka would be recognized more by the casual fan, but not the people who follow hockey. I think his contract tells you everything you need to know. Rinne or Fleury should get the 3rd nom, but it is a tossup with quick and lundy. personally, I hope quick gets it, as he was by far more important to the kings making the playoffs then lundy was.

Who is this strange mod hanging out on our boards?

I really hope Rinne gets the Vezina this year, but I think it's going to be Lundy

lundqvist will get the vezina and it won't be close. quick has the 2nd nomination. . rinne had the 3rd nomination imo until his play faltered. not sure who gets the 3rd nomination

Weber and rinne would both have a Norris and a vezina by now if they played on Toronto, Detroit, Montreal, Chicago, Boston or nyr. No question.

I think it's more impressive that he leads the league in shots against and saves.

NHL Network's playoff show mixed up Pekka's GAA by saying it was 2.93 when it's 2.39. People are probably like whaaaaat?
