Is it based on season series? When did that rule change? I thought it was based on who had more goals (GF)? I must have missed that rule when it came out..stupid rule.

So...if Isles get 2 points, we need Minnesota to get at least a point against Phoenix. We also need 2 points from Anaheim against Calgary, and Leafs need to at least get a point against Montreal. That's to solidify the fourth spot.
Great work, Law. Some pretty funny GDTs this year.
Personally, I want a win. I'm tired of losing and I don't care about a 10% chance for a lottery win that means we could draft another player that might be great. And the dif b/w 4 and 7 is usually irrelevant in the long run.
I'd rather just end with a win, with JT getting his 82 (or more) points and some smiles.

How about:
- an Islanders win
- at least 4 points for JT so he passes Spezza and ends up 4th in scoring
- a goal for Grabner to give him 20
- a goal for Nino to give him a positive to end the season
- a Wild win in OT (I would like to see Phoenix win the west, so they need a point)
- a Ducks win
- a Maple Leafs loss in OT (I don't like the leafs, but they need at least a point for the Islanders to get the 4th pick).
- a Wild win in OT (I would like to see Phoenix win the west, so they need a point)
Wild like Anaheim and Toronto only need 1 point to finish ahead of us(assuming we win). So if you want Phoenix to win the division the Wild could lose in OT
Personally I will play it safe, I hope the Islanders lose 7-6 in a shootout. lol

I could live with that.
Maybe KO should get 2 to get to 25, since we're being greedy...
Awesome effort throughout the year Law.....great job. As for the isles.......well I hope JT gets his 82 pts. And that the Isles can win yet at minimum stay at 4 ( or higher). At least the year is over and we don't have to read about how this team didn't show up.
Every time I openly cheer for the Islanders to lose in a GDT, they end up winning, so I'm just gonna say hope we're not in this position next year. Eventually the wins will come, some prospects will turn into bonafide players, and we'll be able to say "I was a fan back in the hard times".

If that is the case I sure hope you cheer for the Islanders to lose all 82 games next year, plus the playoffs as well.
Great job on the GDT's this year.
I hope to see JT get a couple points tonight, along with us staying as the #4 pick.
Official word is 7 D. Forward lines will be alternating madness.
Cappy's reaction:
It's been.....a season. Nowhere near the one I was expecting, and with a very iffy future, here's hoping we're not playing Taps again in 12 months.
Law, this summer will be GDT withdrawal, Trainspotting style. Always a treat, even if everyone not named John Tavares isn't.
Insomuch as I'm of the opinion that the best thing to do with the Islanders' 1st round pick is ship it straight the hell to any team with defensive depth coming back, screw it - roll 'em. I hate seeing the Islanders play uninspired, losing, Capuano's dejected manatee face, and seasons that end on bad notes. JT ain't tanking.
awesome work for the season law, much appreciated! cant wait until they make the playoffs to see what youve got planned. tho this could take a couple of years..
Law, it's always a pleasure to see your GDT's day in and day out.
Next year, anyway to make a thread solely for the GDT's? It'd really be remarkable to see game 1 to 82 and spot the differences in the lineups, comments, etc.
Thanks again for everything Law. You really were the only reason that the season was tolerable!

Hmm, don't think we could put the entire GDT into one thread (including the comments), but maybe the OPs or something to see how things went throughout the year. I'll have to give that some thought.
EDIT: Actually kinda bored at the moment, might gather the 2011-12 together and see if it's worth it. Could be interesting to see the roller coaster of emotions this team puts us through.
