Reasons for Regular Season Smiles...

I wanted to find a happy topic...with all the anger going on, i think we need to focus on some awesome statistical points...

The Rangers this regular season have clinched #1 in the Eastern Conference & #1 in the Atlantic Division...they have a chance to win the Presidents Trophy with the best record in the NHL...

Guess what? Since the lockout the penguins have NEVER been #1 in the NHL nor in the Eastern Conference...in fact the penguins have NEVER been #1 in the Eastern Conference as long as they have been in the NHL dating back to the year they entered the NHL in 1967 (I am considering divisions as conferences when there weren't any conferences).

Let's go into the playoffs with class and smiling rangers fans because this is one heck of a hockey team...I am proud of what the rangers have accomplished this regular season!!!

What are you talking about? The Pens were the runaway President's Trophy in 1992-93, and won their conference and division a bunch of time.

I do apologize I missed the 92-93 season on nhl.com...

so i retract part of my original post...so i take that back, my bad...i was originally just going to say since the lockout, but got then decided to go back all the way and got carried away...sorry missed one year, but that was the only time they were #1 in the NHL and East (they have not been #1 in conference but that one year)

*also note that when I refer to division it is in the early years before they had conferences...the penguins have won the division some times, but only when conferences were created
