Game 82: Coyotes @ Wild 5PM|4-7-2012|(Eyes On The Prize Edition Part II)

TONIGHT APRIL 7TH, 2012 IS THE MOST IMPORTANT NIGHT IN PHOENIX COYOTES HISTORY(FOR NOW) AS THIS YEARS COYOTES HAVE A CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING NO OTHER TEAM HAS EVER DONE BEFORE. WITH ONE WIN OR SOME HELP AFTER GETTING THE LOSER POINT, THE COYOTES WILL GET THEIR 1ST EVER DIVISION TITLE.

THE HISTORY OF THE COYOTES HAS BEEN FILLED WITH ALOT OF LET DOWNS FROM NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS FOR MANY YEARS TO NEVER GETTING PAST THE 1ST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS. FROM OWNERSHIP ISSUES TO NEVER FINISHING 3RD OR HIGHER IN A PLAYOFF SEED, THE PAINFUL EXPERENCE THAT HAS PLAQUED THIS TEAM FOR 15 YEARS HAS BEEN ASTRONOMICAL.

HOWEVER, THE LAST 3 SEASONS HAVE BEEN THE BEST HOCKEY EXPERENCE ALL AROUND WITH THE HELP OF DAVE TIPPETT AND DON MALONEY AS THEY HELP LEAD THIS TEAM TO 3 STRAIGHT PLAYOFF APPERANCES, AND BREAKING A FEW TEAM AND NHL RECORDS IN THE PROCESS.

IN THE PROCESS, BOTH MEN HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WEED OUT THE BAD FROM THE GOOD WITHIN THE TEAM AND MANAGE TO GET THE BEST TEAM ASSEMBELED WITH BUDGET RESTRICTIONS BY HAVING A SYSTEM AS BRINGS OUT THE BEST IN ITS PLAYERS.

TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT THE COYOTES HAVE THE BEST CHANCE EVER TO BE CROWNED AS CHAMPIONS FOR THE 1ST EVER TIME. WILL THIS BE THE NIGHT WHERE THE 1ST EVER DIVISION WIN WILL OVERSHADOW A GREAT DEAL OF BAD THIS FRANCHISE AND ITS FANS HAD TO ENDURE IN ITS 15 YEAR HISTORY? ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT AND THAT IS TO WATCH THIS HISTORIC GAME IN COYOTES HISTORY LIVE FROM MINNESOTA.

@
PHOENIX COYOTES (40-27-13) vs MINNESOTA WILD (35-35-11)

Xcel Energy Center St, Paul Minnesota

TV Coverage (Fox Sports Arizona Plus In HD)
Radio Coverage(XTRA Sports 910 AM)

Minnesota leads the series 2-1 but our winner was in Minnesota, lets even the series at 2 games a piece.

Due to the circustances of both teams all lines are to be determined at the start of the game.

Todays game day thread is:

Mike Smith Approved!

Please lead us to the prize!!!!!!!

I'd love to see this one with other fans. Is there a viewing party somewhere? Where are you guys going to watch it?

I'm located in north Phoenix, but I don't mind driving a bit.

Not that I am aware of and nothing advertised on the Coyotes Website.

Help me out, if we get 1 pt & LA wins we're ties again and don't they hold the tie breaker? I'm so confused on this.

If we get 1 point, then we need San Jose to win no matter how they do it or if the game goes to a shootout.

I'll be able to watch part of the game at home, but then I have to go work at a church event this evening so I'll miss the third period. Boohoo. My husband already told me that I'm not allowed to check the score while I'm there. Bummer!

P.S. Not to be nitpicky, OP but the word you want is "plagued" rather than plaqued. I don't want the team to be plagued but I wouldn't mind if they were plaqued with some sort of division title plaque!

Additionally, if we only get 1 point, LA can win the shootout and we'd still take the division because of our superior ROW.

We have to get at least 1 point tonight to have a chance. No points=no division.

What's with all the negativity on Tyson Nash?- he was a bit raw the first season but I think he is becoming pretty good for a color guy.. he's at least as good as Jim Fox who was a similar type of player for the Kings- we are lucky not to have a broadcast team like those Duck broadcasters- complete homers- if we had them I would just turn off the sound.
Despite calling players by the wrong name now and then Matt is a pretty good replacement for Strades who was the best in the business..
This night is going to be big- the team is going to be pumped beyond belief- we are watching history being made.
just wish they had a for sure building to hang this first Pacific champ banner in tho..

sometimes you are just in the minority.. I talk to people who think he is doing just fine- no matter, he is there and could be worse..
this is the entertainment side of the franchise- and that is the one that will draw in fringe fans who are not yet locked into Diamondback baseball..
BTW- I have the same issues you do with Tyson with Mark Grace- I watch a lot of baseball with no sound to avoid him, same as I do with the Kidcaster.

MY HEAD HURTS! LET'S WIN THIS GAME FOR MY HEADACHE! I miss the old days, can't drink like I used to.

I love Tyson Nash. He actually makes me laugh, can't complain about that. You can't replace Strader, but Matt has done just fine. Besides that, let's just win regardless and win the Division!

I just hope this game doesn't drain Smith too much.

Would love to get Chipchura back in the lineup, great 4th liner needed for playoffs. Can't deny that Pyatt has made it difficult for him to get back in.

If it helps, I will carry the banner to the game tonight for the 'Yotes. Am sitting in section 125, row 10 for the game.

Well for all you dish customers who are hoping the game is broadcast on dish 441 good luck. I tried to set it up for recording and it tells me it won't be broadcast due to local franchise rights, I called dish and explained they are blowing it big time with no feed on 415 and as far as the rep could tell 441 is signed off at 430 today... he is working on it... told me to watch it on FSN north.. which he gave me and it is showing a baseball game...
God help us- I may be done with dish over this one.
try to go to the 441 game and click to record.. it will tell you the same as it told me I bet... it's saying you are doing the same as trying to watch a blackout game.

Fox Sports Arizona really dropping the ball on this one. I'm glad the game is even televised(on the original schedule it wasn't), but they really should have bumped this game to regular FSN. FSN+ doesn't have the availability that FSN does. Suns are playing, sure, and against the Lakers, but still, for a division clinching game like this, not at home, I would have liked to see this on regular FSN to get to more homes.
