Canes at Panthers 4/7/12 Last game of the season

Best thing about this game will be getting a look at Jeremy Welsh.

Questions for tonight:

Will we screw with the Panthers to let them get 8th?

Will Staal reach 70 points tonight?

How will Welsh play?

Can we consider this season semi-positive?

Will everyone be too concerned about pop without the carbonation and the shore lunches?

Lines-

Tlusty - Staal - Larose
Skinner - Welsh - Ruutu
Jokinen - Sutter - Nodl
Stewart - Brent - Joslin

Gleason-Allen
Harrison-Faulk
Pitkanen-McBain

Boucher
Ward

Fleischmann-Weiss-Upshall
Wolski-Matthias-Versteeg
Bergenheim-Goc-Samuelsson
Sturm-Madden-Kopecky

Garrison-Campbell
Kulikov-Weaver
Jovanovski-Gudbranson

Clemmenson
Theodore

Appears that Scott Clemmensen in net for #FlaPanthers v #nhlCanes ... Scratch line looks like Santorelli, Barch and Smithson

Good luck tonight boys, hope for a clean no injury game.

Cheers.

They are certainly giving Welsh a nice opportunity to show what he has to offer. I hope he makes an impact tonight.

I expect nothing less than an Ovechtrick from Welsh tonight...

It looks like he got an awesome deal with taking the spot that Jokinen's usually in rather than being placed at wing on the Sutter line. I am intrigued by that lineup right now...we'll see how much damage it does to the Imma Getchu cats tonight.

18th birthday for me today. Hoping, but not expecting a win today. Regardless today is going to be amazing with all of the hockey and also today is the beginning of Spring Break for me.

I don't think he'll be a "difference maker," he's not going to take over the game, but a point and/or some solid play would make me feel good.

Sounds like a pretty good day to me. Happy birthday. Now hopefully all the games go your way today and Spring Break kicks off on a good note.

Biggest hopes:

Staal hits 70 points
LaRose hits 20 goals (on the same play would be nice actually)
Welsh with his first NHL goal
No injuries

Yes, but the Caps will lose.

Yes.

Like a rookie. 3 shifts, then demoted to 4th line.

No.

I don't state givens

Seriously though, one more, would love to see a huge game out of Boucher if he is in fact going to retire after this season.

Personally I'd rather see LaRose on the 3rd line, and have Jokinen/Ruutu as the RW on the 1st and 2nd lines, but I'm excited to see Welsh play either way.

Anyone know why Dwyer is out?

I can actually see this game getting pretty nasty. The Canes have nothing left to lose, the Panthers have a division title to lose after leading it the entire year (why does that sound so familiar ). The two teams don't like each other.

My prediction: That 2nd line is going to cause a major kerfuffle (Yes, kerfuffle). Skinner being Skinner could do it, Ruutu laying a questionable hit could do it, and the need to protect the rookie could do it.

Personal reasons, according to Chip. Chip didn't state anything specific though.

3-2 OT win.

We end on a high, and troll Washington at the same time.

If I have one thing to say to this team tonight it's this. Please don't allow 3 shorthanded goals on the same PP like you did 2 seasons ago.

Also, please one of you get a hat-trick tonight.

Send a message via Yahoo to faulkingdynamic
Dwyer has been playing banged up for a while so no surprise he steps out with Welsh in and the team trying to get Nodl in before the season ends.

This team gets under my skin. I'd like to see a win tonight and maybe a good fight or two to end the season on a goonish note.

Want to see:

Canes destroy a playoff team and division rival with everyone contributing.

Welsh's debut, esp centering a line.

Staal hit 70p despite being an 1st half-season no-show.

LaRose hit 20g despite missing 15 games.

Somebody win a fight, since the shootout blank was filled-in vs Montreal.

That's all really.

Go out on a positive, normally I'm hoping for a better draft pick here but this year is shot for that. Send them to the playoffs with hit to the confidence. Catz in the playoffs....

Just cuz you stick a cat in the oven don't make it no biscuit.
