Can't believe the Panthers will be Southeast Division champs. Of course this year that's like winning the Sunbelt conference in NCAA football but still.

Only in the NHL is a team that won 33 games and lost 49 billed as a .500 team.
I lol'd because our points system in this league is ****ed.
Not that it would help us this year, but I've been barking up this tree since I saw the influence that shootouts have on the standings:
go back to allowing ties, or skip OT outright and go
3 points - regulation win
2 points - shootout win
1 point - shootout loss
0 points - regulation loss
**** this team. It is pitiful that I have to root for another team again come playoff time. J.R. is going to list off things regarding what he's going to do this offseason, he's only going to do one of them, call it a success, and before you know it, we'll be doing the same thing next year. I hate the no heart attitude that I saw today and I can't understand it after all the talk about how important of a game this was. Either this team is a bunch of ass kissers or they have no heart.
I hope this was what they wanted heading into the summer because I know I sure didn't. Hopefully we see some backbone next season and not this soft, ****** play.
Another long ****ing offseason.
I can't even be mad that the Panthers have the division title. It's their first one, and ther fans, while not loud, did throw rats on the ice. That was funny to see.
Really enjoyed your announcers, very classy toward our finally making it and winning the Division.
Nobody beats John and Tripp... best combo in the league.
Congrats on the division title! I know that empty seats are common at BankAtlantic Center... but on here, different story. I've been surprised to see how big the fan base is on here. It's unfortunate that others in south Florida aren't catching the hockey bug like you guys have.
I really do hate the fact the players and coaches aren't held accountable for the things they say.
Every year, there's a "must-win" game and the players go on and on about how important the game is and how they're going to come out strong and yadda yadda yadda. Then the game is played and the team sucks from the puck drop and there's no questioning it.
Just once I'd like a reporter to come out and say "Hey, what happened to all that bravado pregame? You were quoted as saying 'We can't give up the first goal', yet you yourself were primarily responsible for the first goal against."
Pretty good. Took one penalty that was a questionable call on his first shift. Took another "penalty" later in the game that shouldn't have been called (Gunbranson fell over Welsh while Welsh was trying to avoid going offside).
Showed a few solid defensive plays, a willingness to hit, drove for the front of the net, and had a few good scoring chances.

You know, that system makes more and more sense to me.

Wow, lot of negativity there. Look, I know what was said before the game, but let's be honest. That's all lip service. The Canes coaches and players know it was a meaningless game. How can you really get "up" for that? It's human nature, don't take it so hard.
Now at the beginning of the season, the horrible starts each year, THAT is a big problem. The last game of a lost season...who cares, I'm not holding anything against team players, coaches, or management. Not for that.

I don't like the words "Canes" and "Devils" in the same sentence, unless the word "beat" is in between.
