Remember what he was like at the start of that movie? ah yes a crappy ugly human being, at the end? oh yes talented, hardworking and beloved by all around him
Does anyone else think with it being clear that Dubs is the #1 next year (or backup if we get a starter somewhere), that Bulin might be hanging the pads up after tonight?

Only way I see Khabi hanging em up is if we sign another goalie to split time with Dubnyk and tell Khabbi we're going to send him to the minors and nobody claims him
Beating Vancouver for me is more important than some draft positioning.
Let's say the 29th place team wins the lottery and the Canadiens get Yakupov. 5 years from now when he's playing 40 goals are you really going to be saying "well, at least we beat the Canucks back in April 2012"?
That win against the Flames back in 2006-07 ended up being the difference between Kane and Gagner. You think people still cherish that win or do you think they'd rather just have Kane
Flames up 1-0 on Akim Aliu's 1st NHL goal. The Drive for Nine is still alive!
Excellent! These last couples games have been the only time I've wanted Calgary to win. Gotta love seeing them barely miss the playoffs and wind up with a bad draft pick every year lol

I watched that game. Oh the memories of winning that meaningless game in April.

I'd be pulling out my hair if my team finished 9th every year. No playoffs, no reason to think things are getting better. I don't know how much longer the Flamers can keep doing this.
He has the chance to match the best regular season by an Oilers forward since the lockout (Hemsky - 77 points in 05/06) and be the first to go a point-per-game since Weight if he can somehow manage 2 points tonight.
That's all I care about tonight. Hopefully, Luo starts because Schneider will probably shut us out.

He should do everybody a favour and retire. Unless... he loves watching his career statistics take a pounding.

Management is going to start him the majority of games next year in the "Not winnin' lets draft Mckinnon" drive after which he will be given permanent "Bob Gainey" status.

You could just as easily make the exact same opposite argument. What if the 3rd place team wins the lottery? We should have won this game shouldn't we have?

This isn't actually the case. Oilers finished 25th in the league, tied with Chicago with 71 points. If the Oilers didn't win that last game Chicago would have finished 25th yes, but the Oilers would have finished 27th, not 26th. Washington would have finished where Chicago did. At least we could have gotten Alzner...
Hey Soli, last GDT hey. For some reason, I got the vibe from you like "Fine, if nobody is going to make it, I'll do it" all year long since there was a rare occurrence that somebody else actually made one. LOL
Anyways, go Oilers! Not a fan of cheering for a loss. Felt like there was no point as I've watched 6 straight years of non-playoff hockey.

And if Patrik Stefan could score on an empty net we'd have Patrick Kane!
Thx to all the posters who took the time this year to do the GDT's
I was gonna do a season summary and such, but things got hectic the last couple of days. Maybe I'll save it for the PGT and entitle it "Eulogy"
I was surprised that nobody had one up this morning.

A game day without a GDT would be sheer chaos! I enjoy making them, but the ones that others put some original thought into are so much better and put my cookie cutter GDTs to shame. But yes, a bittersweet day for sure. Without question I'd rather be making GDTs into the month of May.
