Might be the adrenaline of being in a game. I'm happy for him.

Great scene at center ice.

EVERY year? I've heard that point so many times from different people that I just start thinking 2010-11 season never happened. Last season the Jackets won only 3 out of last 20 games. They started this year the same way they finished last.

I don't think so. Wish it did. Who knows if he'll ever be in the NHL ever again.

You know, I mostly agree with you. The only fault I can see is depending on mason, but dekanich could have really helped had he stayed healthy. We clearly didn't play upto our capability for most of the season, but when jack Johnson came aboard , we started playing like a different team. Let's hope for yapukov, and a kings ransome for nash. Get a good goalie, and do this again next year.

To get a win Hunwick have to give up 4 goals and the Jackets need to score 1. The stupidity of that "win" stat.

I actually had this huge post a few weeks back about whether there's any truth to a late-season surge or late-season swoon. I actually only found one surge, and multiple swoons.

Unfortunately, there was a server error right as I posted it...when it corrected itself, it not only didn't post, but it also didn't keep any of the text either, so it was lost forever. I won't even attempt another because it makes me mad to think about.

Let the records show that when somebody says this streak was totally meaningless...

a. the only loss was due to a record setting performance by Mike Smith.
and
b. the only game that was meaningless to both teams was this game.

Lets see...

If we take the start of the 2009-2010 season, the start of the 2010-2011 season, the 2010-2011 from the All-Star break until Garon punted that one-timer pass to Weber in Nashville, and the 2011-2012 team after the trade deadline and we have...

A playoff team!!!

47-23-5! 99 points with 7 games to play!

And if we take only the games Blue Jackets won over the last 3 years they would have been 82-0.
I mean the point was that people are saying that the Jackets were playing well at the END of every year and it never transfers to the next season success. My point is they never really played that well at the end of most of the previous seasons. They could get a few wins here and there, but I don't remember them playing that well as a team.

How so? Looked like the standard end of the season "Thank you fans" video.

Good riddance to 2011-2012 and to having to settle for a silver lining of excuses and "fan favorites" every frickin year.

You wouldn't venture a guess that several of those signs were originally neon green and less than favourable to Howson/Priest? Not exactly stellar Photoshop execution...

AND, how many fans in the stands would hold up signs saying, "Thank You", to other fans?

Actually, whatever.
