why pull crawford there? wouldn't you rather face the pacific division champ (likely phoenix) instead of nashville in the first round?

I don't care what anyone says, Pavel Datsyuk is the best player in the NHL. Always clutch.

This was basically the point I was trying to make when I was editing my post. Why does either of these teams want to play Nashville? Nashville almost beat a stacked and eventual cup champion Chicago team the last time they met. Detroit would most likely get to play Phoenix again if they drop to 6th so I don't even know why they tied it because now they get Nashville.

Higher seed if you're thinking that St. Louis' struggles are going to continue into the playoffs. 4/5 winner will be the 3 seed next round in that case, and if the 6 "upsets" the 3 as well, you're home ice in round 2.

Niemi plays pretty well against Chicago doesn't he? He plays well against Chicago and Detroit while he sucks against LA and Vancouver. Start Greiss if we get Vancouver in the 1st round. Start Niemi if we get Chicago.

Compete level. They wanted to win...can't fault them.

If Greiss sees ice time in the playoffs, we're in deep trouble and the entire summer will be full of rosterbation to get rid of Niemi.
