I am excited for this series to start. I think it will be the toughest series in the west in the first round.

Nashville in 7. Should be a fantastic series! Nashville will prove to be too much for the Wings, though.

It's a pick-em series but I'm glad since it prevents a west coast trip for Detroit and the rest of the West is looking brutal right now.

In addition, I think Nashville would have been far better off with Chicago.

Detroit with the "upset" in six

Detroit was the hottest team in the west and were the leaders before getting injured. After they lost Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Howard, Ericsson, Helm, Franzen, Eaves, Kindl for a significant amount of time (not to mention had to play a 3rd string goalie for awhile), they were basically icing an AHL team for over a month, they dropped in the ranks allowing Nashville to catch up. Had Red Wings been healthy, they'd be fighting for the president's trophy and no doubt win their division.

Now they are getting healthy (helm expected back in game 2), and you could see the last few weeks Red Wings were playing not to get injured. Clearly home ice advantage is less important than health.

I would be surprised if Nashville gets to 6 games. I think Wings will win 5 games decisively, and I expect to hear Barry Trotz presser saying how good Detroit is and why they want to emulate their winning style.

Nashville is gonna get SCHOOLED.

Trotz vs babcock, gonna be an epic coaching matchup with both coaches matching lines every shift.

I wonder if any chance suter and weber get split up cause the wings second line with Zetterberg would eat up Klein and Gill

Nashville comes into the playoffs on a roll, meanwhile the Wings are basically limping in on the same streak of anti-momentum they've been riding since February.

Still, I gotta stick to my guns. Wings are my team, so I'll always pick them, no matter how things look on paper. If there was ever a test to see what this team is really made of, this is it.

Wings in 6.

This is just a ton of excuses... the Wings were not playing "not to get injured." They were simply playing like steaming garbage for about the last month.

Nearly every Wings fan will agree with that.

This will be far, far, far from an easy series for either team.

If Jimmy Howard can at the very least match Rinne in every game i think the wings take it cause the wings offense is just too much for the preds.

Coaching and defense, wings easily match the preds. babcock is an elite coach, his team can adapt to literally any opponents playing style.

The only way the preds win this is by using their speed and energy and exposing the age of the wings.

Nashville in 6 (although I accidentally voted Preds in 5 ).

I don't know that they're a better team than the Wings...but right now they just look like the stronger and more playoff ready team. When I watch them, they play with a tenacity that I don't see from the Wings at this moment...and in a playoff series I think this will put the Preds over the top).

Easily one of the best matchups of the 1st round, probably 2nd to Philly/Pitts.

I'm looking forward to watching this one. I have a feeling about Nashville this year; even Detroit doesn't shake this feeling. Ummasay Predators take it.

I don't think, that they split up weber and suter, but i think the second pairing should be josi with gill

People say that every year cause the wings rarely go into the playoffs on a hot streak. But the thing is, playoffs wise theyre the most experienced team in the league and come playoff time, their level of play goes to another level very few other teams are capable of. Wings just turn it on with a flick of a switch, they dont need time to get their legs going, they start right from puck drop game 1.

Weber and Suter won't be split.

Should see

Suter - Weber
Bouillon - Klein
Gill - Josi

Yeah, no joke.

The Hawks were the best team in the West at one point...and were they also in the NHL??? But it's not like we're all figuring this means the playoff will be a slam dunk.

Someone posted this on our board and I thought it was interesting considering how bad the Wings have looked in the past couple of weeks.
