Disappointing end, but I suppose it sums up the season for those of us who followed the team pre-relocation.

For the rest, it's a conclusion to the best thing that's happened to Winnipeg in memory.

Let's look forward to the draft, free agency, and hopefully a much better start to next season than we had to this season.

For now, I'll change my avatar, and cheer on the Blues (then the Canucks if the Blues are eliminated).

Thanks to everyone in Winnipeg, and all the Jets fans abroad for finally showing this team the support it deserves. It means a lot to someone who has supported this team through 10 years of failure to see fans support them so amazingly well.

I, for one, am extremely proud of the Jets this season. They embraced the community as much as the community embraced them. There are so many positives about this season and with such a young club, they will only get better. IMO, we need to get Kane and Pavs locked up soon. We have an unbelievable amount of young talent on this team and they were a pleasure (and yes frustrating) team to watch. I'm going to enjoy the summer but I am already looking forward to next year. If any Jet or member of the organization reads this thread, I would just like to say thank you. Thank you for an awesome inaugural year. We love you! GO JETS!!

Great season. The boys fought hard. We pick 9th. lets see what happens over the summer. And I can't believe some guy had 100,000 Vcash on the game and won.

Yea, I get that but I know that we have our own feed here. I'm sure 90% of the people watching CBC in Winnipeg would rather see the post game stuff than highlights from around the league.

Is the opposite of a classless Subban now a "Classy Stamkos"?

Winnipeg Jets post-game audio

Jets - Pavelec, Slater and Stuart.

Audio here.

Bolts - Stamkos & Purcell. (Stamkos talked about how much it meant to score his 60th before a Cdn audience).

I can't wait until next season.

"I'm sad. But at the same time I'm really happy that something can make me feel that sad. It makes me feel alive you know, feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling now is a beautiful sadness..."

I'm sad too but I guess it beats not having a team to cheer for. Now time to look forward to the draft. Maybe we can get lucky and move up a few spots in the lottery.

Hard to believe the season is over. I only realized last week how close the end was.

What a great season, I'm so glad Winnipeg has an NHL team! The performance wasn't everything I'd have wanted but to be honest - it doesn't matter much. Not this year.

I'm glad Stamkos picked up his 60th, and losing sucks but we got a bit of a bump in the draft order. I only got home about half an hour ago so I'll be watching the game later on tonight.

My parents were at the game. Apparently someone in a box seat won one of the jerseys, an announcement which was met with a chorus of boos

All in all a great season, it's disappointing that they fell short of the playoffs but I'm optimistic about next year.

Missed the game but it looked exciting. So sorry it's all over but it's been great! Thanks, Jets!

Am I the first to notice that the Jets began the season with goals by Antropov, Slater and Slater and ended the season with goals by Antropov, Slater and Slater?!

Not only because it was someone in a box, but also because it was Pavelec's jersey so everyone wanted it

It was a great season, the most fun I've had in winter in a long time. Hopefully next year we can make the playoffs. And my disappointment this year in missing the playoffs has less to do with the actual playoffs and more so with the fact that now the season is over and I have to wait 5 or 6 months for more Jets hockey

I laid out all of my tickets today, went to 15 games and some great memories. Opening night, Selanne's return and the "silver medal" chants stand out to me.

I'm not feeling as happy and congratulatory as most fans tonight.

This team stunk down the stretch, including losing the last four games at home. Once again they fall behind by multiple goals before rallying too little too late.

And I'm surely going to bring the wrath upon me with what I'm going to say next.....Pavelec is not as good as you think he is.

2.91 and .906 after he went 2.73 and 0.914 the season before. Look at starting goalies in the NHL and see where he ranks, he's the in the basement of the league. Sure he has great games and makes amazing saves, but then he has truly unremarkable performances.

Just great to have NHL hockey back in the Peg. Hope the off season FA market provides the Jets with a much needed #1 centre. Little is just too streaky and inconsistent.

Bogo and Pavs are two good young players to build around, good second half comebacks by Ladd, Wheeler and to a lesser extent Buff. Both Buff and Enstrom need to be much better next year.

Really like the fight from Stuart, Slater and Thorburn.

Not high on Glass, Antro or Hainsey.

Maxwell, Machacek or Cormier can easily take the G role on the GST line and all three could very well be on the roster next season.

Mittens and little Timmy both proved to be valuable to the team.

Fehr a lost cause and doesn't deserve another shot.

I don't recall too many times that he gave up a really bad goal or that I thought after a game that he had played poorly. The Jets' defence at times (many times) makes goaltending a challenge.

For him and the team as a whole, the highs were so high that it gives me confidence that the potential is there to be a top team in the next two or three years.

Disappointing result, but not completely unexpected with so many injuries.

I just checked, Pavelec was 40th out of 46 goaltenders in GAA.

36th out of 46th in save percentage.

And around here he walks on water. Shows how deep the delusion is.

FFS both Oiler goalies had better stats.

God what a phenomenal year. I like the players on this team more than I thought I would. I can't wait for next season.

Thanks to all the terrific Jets posters here over the past year too. I may not agree with all of you (and vice versa) but I learned a lot and really enjoyed the ride together.

Seeing Rad Jets Guy at the end of the game was really the cherry on top!
