There's no reason to be afraid of them. It's take a meltdown by Tim Thomas to cost us this series.

Washington is down to its third string goalie, and they have a defensive corps that contains both Mike Green and Dennis Wideman, so we're going to be getting a lot of odd-man rushes and scoring chances. It may go to 6 games, but losing to that team would be absolutely unacceptable.

They should.

But the way I look at it is that you should never disrespect or underestimate your opponent.

Thankfully I don't think the Bruins do that.

Confidence, but not over-confidence.

Cap fans are so ignorant, tough for them to understand what a solid team is i guess:
"Boston has the worst sports fans. Please shut them up, Caps."
"The Bruins were my pick for first round upset a few weeks ago. They've been playing like **** and they have two fourth lines. That first round upset might as well come from the Caps."
They make me so frustrated.

Remember this?

I'm sure Timmy does, and hell hath no goalie like a Timmy scorned!

That is to say he was embarrassed and usually comes back lights-out.

By the way, that move was stolen from Shawn!

Ottawa was definetly the better matchup, but we will be fine against the Caps. They are still a fragile team with questionable goaltending and a soft D, Bruins in 6.

Sorry, but that expression always cracks me up.

Unacceptable? What does that mean? Exile to the French Foreign Legion?

Sometimes I think the Bruins actually give their opponents too much credit...Let's stomp em like we did Philly.

Im not afraid of them at all. They're to weak. As a lot of people said already, everyone is making too big of a deal of the caps.

So basically Caps fans cant form opinions of their own? I bet they read those comments somewhere on hfboards and are just recycling them

Why is this a worse matchup then Ottawa? Anderson is better then who Washington can roll out. Alfie/Spezza/Michalek are just as good as Wash big three.... Ottawa's defense is better...and they HIT ALL NIGHT (:lonnieface ..... You want a series of Greening, Smith, Neil (if healthy), Foligno, and Condra running you every game? Not me.

Confidence folks, confidence.

They were when they had Iafrate, Jagr, Oates, and Bondra. Then they went on a hiatus.

A little over confindent calling a loss to a very talented team with a new coach then before when they couldnt do anything in the playoffs absolutely unacceptable. Also have one of the best players in the game that can take a series over.It comes down to the surporting cast in my opinion if Semin and backstrom can help Ovie out its going to be close. I dont think there going to lose but would i be surprised NO. In fact no one should.

B's have been playing well over the last dozen games.
I see them turning it up a notch in the playoffs.
Sure the caps have some high end talent, but then after that?
They have get through Chara and company, then Thomas.
In the words of Alfred E Neuman, 'Who me, worried?'

Watching Timmy today, he is ready for the playoffs. When Timmy is ready, I fear no one.

Bring on the Caps.

I don't care who the Bruins play in any round. If you want to win the cup you are going to have to through some great teams. Caps, Rags, Pens, Canucks, Wings, whatever. Bring 'em all on.

Pound them physically. Keep Ovenchicken on the perimeter and stay out of the box. Our 3rd and 4th lines will deplete them.

their main characters disappear in the playoffs and their goaltending is in rough shape. Hopefully we face Ottawa in round 2...I hate the Rangers!

I'd rather face Ovechkin, Backstrom, Semin, Laich, Green and the rest of the crew any day. I don't think they can beat the Bruins and infact think the Bruins take them out in five. Never thought this would be the matchup but we got some marquee talent to watch.

I'll make one prediction I am confident of. If the Capitals win this series Dennis Wideman will contribute in a big way towards the Bruins being out before May 1st.
