The Senators have to be happy to be playing NYR instead of Bos. They pretty well whooped the NYR in the season series and got whooped by the Bs. Washington won't do crap against us. They're not even close to being built for the playoffs.
here's the way I see it, the bruins have the talent, system, and bravado to sweep the caps and make them look stupid in the process
they also have some kind of weird tendency to play like **** against soft fancy teams like this and not impose their will, so if they play like that they could lose in 7
usually it's somewhere in between in these situations so I'm going to say Bruins in 6
win first two, lose 3, win 4, lose 5, win 6.
if the Bruins lose to the Caps it'll be a worse loss than 09 and 10, without question.
Not worse than those two. No way. Coming off a Stanley Cup, against a team with Ovechkin and Backstrom? No way. It can't be worse than losing to a worse Canes team in OT, or the choke against the Flyers.
I still like the B's chance to win they are the all around better team.
and yes it won't be easy and we lose our share of games but like las season we come out on top
What's the over/under on the number of pages this thread his by Thursday?
Who ever comes closest wins 5 free treads of their choice .... but has to use them by the time we win our second cup in a row this june
I say 698 posts
Pound them physically. Keep Ovenchicken on the perimeter and stay out of the box. Our 3rd and 4th lines will deplete them.
what you forget is, the caps are just as physical. I don't even think they have a guy that is under 6 feet. Guys like Laich, Chimera can pound all night long, just like how Lucic and Thornton can. Its going to be an ugly series. If TT is on his game and caps PP is kept to a min, then we will win.
Chara and Seid are also a super key d pair. Especially vs Ovie, Backstrom
We pull it out in 7 . But prob by one goal. Honestly again, the one team i didn't want to face other than the pens in the whole league.

other then ottawa and florida the playoff teams this year all seem quite deserving and i dont think im surprised if any of them are able to show up and put on a good game any night of the week
washington obviously has enough raw superstar talent that they have to be 'feared' but fear is healthy. fear makes us take necessary precaution. fear makes us do our best for survival
our best will be good enough im quite confident. a little fear is healthy... but it wont paralyze us. and even if we fear them, everyone in the league should fear us unless they are completely loco. we are the beast in the east. its ours to lose right now. its ours until we lose it right now.
i see vancouver sneaking through the west... give them their due they are a deep talented team like us. i think they got no honor so im sure glad i dont get stuck cheering for those little weasles... it will make for entertaining series though i think.
they got a slight edge on us for overall team talent if both sides are healthy... but we got a huge edge in intensitel fortitude. i could easily see 2 in a row for us.
Call me crazy, but this is the one team I didn't want to see in the East outside of Pittsburgh. We never seem to play well against them and their roster has so much dormant offensive potential that could break out at any time. I'm still confident we'll win, but the first round opponent just got so much tougher than what it looked like for the past while.
There was this guy named Olaf I had a mancrush on...
Anyways, Caps fan with a question: What's up with Rask? I don't expect to have to see him but I'm curious what your backup situation looks like.
Rask could be back for Game 1. But he won't play. It's all TT all the time. The other backup is Who-da-man, fresh off a 44 for 45 save performance against the Sens.
