I'll feel more confident in this team if they make it to round two. Right now I feel about as confident as if they were the 5-8th seed. They have a lot to prove. The first 82 games don't mean much this time of year.

If they can't get out of the first round then honestly, this season is a huge disappointment.

I expect the series to be a less than 7 Rangers win.

Sarcasm? And this isn't meant to be trolling but Senators fans are pretty happy with this matchup. Much more so than with the Bruins.

Good luck guys, just not too much of it

Don't understand why everyone's afraid of the Sens. So we're 1-3 against them, so ****ing what? We were 4-0 against Washington last year and look how that turned out. The playoffs are a whole different animal. The Sens defense is very suspect and they have Craig Anderson in net. If we can contain their offense and Hank gets back to his game, we'll have an easy time.

Of course it's possible the Sens will beat us, but it's also much more possible that we'll win. Stop whining you pansies.

Would've preferred the Caps and Panthers over the Sens...just a team we don't match up well against, and Hank in Canada? Yikes.

I'm still confident this group of guys can get the job done.

Let's get through this round, and hope for a NJD/PHI match up in round 2.

I'd love to be watching NYR hockey DEEP into May and June.

I'm *****ing bricks right now. Very worried about playing against Karlsson and Spezza. Anderson also goes beast mode in the playoffs.

Honestly, this is the worst case scenario.

Rangers in 5 or 6. Defense wins in the playoffs. The Senators gave up 2/3 more goals per game than the Rangers. That's a lot. The only thing they will win are games where their goalie plays above his ability. I expect that to be 1-2 games, not more.

Honestly, I would have preferred a team with more hate factor. Either way, playoffs are finally here. It's going to be fun, enjoy it.

That will still be one hell of a lot more fun to watch than getting swept by Boston. My liquor bill is going to be much lower now. I think the SAQ is sad.

I don't know... You guys seem to bring out the best in us.

Hate has to start somewhere, so I guess this is it.

In 1994, we were thought not not to be able to match up against the Islanders in Nassau. We were winless there for 15 games straight going into the playoffs.

I remember desperately rooting for the Panthers so that we'd play them instead of the Islanders. Result? We swept them with a combined score of 22-3.

Playoffs are a different ball game from the regular season. I don't see a team that has been as consistent as we have losing to a mediocre Senators team unless we just choke. But choking would be caused by youth and inexperience, and not because we faced Ottawa instead of Washington/Florida.

Good luck in the series. If the Sens lose, the Rangers are one of the few teams i'd actually be cheering for to win the cup.
