I'd reply to this post directly, but I dont feel like writing a 274 page post.

Since the Sens have never played the Rangers in the playoffs before, you should all know that every Devils fan will be a fervant Ottawa Senators fan for the next 2 weeks. We'll be glued to every Senators game just like you all will.

GO SENS GO!!!

Great to hear and welcome aboard with us for the next couple weeks. Should be a fun series!

Wish I can return the favour as I do respect the Devils team this season but the Panthers are just too great a story to see as a hockey fan and they are so deserving of all the success they have. So I will be rooting for them, but I'm gonna try to grab some Devils in the playoff draft I got on Monday

Who would of thought watching this team last year, with Clouston, that the sens could finish this year 4th in Total Goals For?

CBC will be preforming verbal ******** on the Sens for as long as we're in the playoff's, TSN and Sportsnet too I imagine.
Its funny, after giving the Sens short shrift on the broadcast today and yammering on about the Leafs and Habs before the game and except for a couple of swipes at the Sens in general and Karlsson in particular between periods , they seem to have suddenly realized now, when the HNIC broadcast is nearly over, that it might not be good business to be so dismisive of the Sens when they have a playoff series to promote.

So now at nearly midnight-sudenly out of the blue, we hear that Ottawa has a good chance for an upset, and of their great top end talent and how great it is that they have Karlsson feeding passes to the forewards.
Should be a great series! So tune in!

Food for thought + my actual breakdown of the series.

In the postseason:

Ottawa's defense core has played 256 games and has a combined total of 116 points. The only defenseman with no playoff experience is Jared Cowen.

New York's defense core has played 69 games and has a combined total of 10 points.

The forward groups have pretty similar postseason experience though.

Ottawa's top 12 forwards have played 293 games and have 167 points. Spezza and Alfredsson represent pretty much all of the scoring. Ottawa has some HUGE question marks in Michalek, Turris and Bingo group.

NYR's top 12 have 153 points in 298 games. Four players (Richards, Gabby, Dubinsky and Fedetenko) have proven scoring ability come playoff time, and only Richards and Dubinsky have seen anything remotely resembling PPG ability in the last five years.

All that being said - I like Ottawa's experience to take the series. Spezza / Alfy will pretty much match Gabby / Richards point for point and our defense's ability to produce offense will win us the series.

The only way I think New York wins this series is if Lundqvist steals it, and I don't think he has it in him.

So excited that I won't have to deal with Boston trolls, once again, Boston fans are the worst fans in the NHL ( i guess a stanley cup will do that to a fanbase).

It feels so weird for the Rangers to be playing against a team I don't hate and has a fanbase I like. Good luck, guys! Should be a good one.

Likewise.

If you so happen to crush the vastly superior Senators , then I shall most likely cheer for you and the Predators.

WAYYYYY to much love here and WAYYYY to much "just happy to be here" chat.

**** that. The Rangers are now Public Enemy Number 1, **** EM! Hope we sweep em and Alfie throws 20 sticks at Ranger fans representing how many goals he scored in the series.

All the pressure is on the Rangers and we match up well against them. I'm not expecting a series win but I'd rather play them than the Bruins. Should be a good series. Just happy to be in the playoffs baby, then let the scouts do their magic at the draft. Great season whatever happens

Same as most of you, in that I love New York city and actually quite like the Rangers. What's not to like? Great character players, attitude, goalie, coach. That being said I hope we pull the upset but should be a fun series nonetheless!

After playing Toronto, NJ and Buffalo a hundred times, it's nice to face a new team in the playoffs.

While I don't love the fact that the Sens lost 3 straight to close out the season, there's no denying the fact that they face a better chance of an upset playing the Rangers instead of the Bruins. They're still the underdogs, but I could see Ottawa push the series to 6 or 7 games.

I just hope NBC doesn't screw us with odd schedulings (i.e. 2 day breaks, back-to-back games, weekend matinees etc.).

Anyone know who CBC's #2 crew is? I'm guessing it's Bob Cole and Garry Galley....just curious as to who'll be doing the Ottawa games.

It's very refreshing to be playing the Rangers, I was all for a new team. Don't forget the Pens in teams we played a ton.

This is going to be a very entertaining series... I'm actually pretty scared of Ranger's first line..

Both teams CAN be very offensive.

Go SENS Go!

It is funny the Boston boards were full of cocky fans eagerly waiting the beatdown that the Bruins would give the Sens, now they are pissing their pants over having to play the Capitals. I just hope Obama will show up to some of the games.

I envision this series being full of handshakes, pats on the back, and sportsmanship.

Should be a nice warm up for whichever one of us plays teams like Philly/Pitt/or Boston.

Since no one else has put on the tinfoil hat yet, let me be the first...

The biggest market US team with the biggest American television base versus the little Canadian team that's supposed to be at the bottom of the conference.

Lol, if you thought the reffing was bias during the regular season, they you haven't seen nothin' yet!
