Phoenix doesn't give anyone on the other team and inch of space and I have to respect that. They've played us tougher these first two games than any other team all season long, hence: playoffs. The Hawks have played THEIR (Phoenix's) game by having to be gritty, dump the puck in, win board battles, etc, and I'm glad we could pull one win off that way. I'd like to see us come out and really possess the puck so our more skilled guys get some quality opportunities. I think Chicago, when on their game, can outpace Phoenix enough to start scoring some goals. The way the first two games have gone though I have to agree with some Yotes fans that we are playing exactly the game Tippett wants us to play.
Good that you agree that Smith isn't god
good that you don't care about all those shots, because in the end, those shots tied both games and forced OT.
Good that the Yotes want to play a style that allows many shots, I hope that Tippett won't change anything on the road. Don't play offense with a lead doesn't end well in the POs. Yotes already got a taste of what can happen once and nearly twice.
So far, I go out and say that Q was the better coach and Crawford wins the battle of the goalies so far. Don't post stats, as you already said, you don't give up many quality chances and most of those shots were just feed for good stats
Game 1: Seabrook got the rebound, it wasn't the shot, it was the lack of defense in front of the net.
Game 2: There was traffic in front of Smith. Again, that's on the defense. There were 2 white shirts in the path of the puck and Smith. OEL was on the person closest to the net, but was not making it difficult for him to be there. The 2nd, had no red shirt on him.
More often than not, the ability to just give up the long shot works out just fine.
If you remember correctly, I said the Coyotes are very good at not allowing sticks on rebounds, which obviously was what happened in game 1 when you tied the game.

So what you're saying is.....Welp. Back to the pile!
A lot of teams call up extras for the playoffs. The AHL season ended over the weekend and the players are now free to join their NHL teams (assuming their AHL team didn't make the playoffs. Portland and Rockford did not).

ChrisKuc: #Blackhawks recall Jeremy Morin, Brandon Pirri, Joe Lavin, Ryan Stanton and Carter Hutton from Rockford and Brandon Saad from Saginaw.

exactly. I wouldnt put too much weight on this just yet...
just adding players to throw in if needed...not imminent
Decision on Shaw tomorrow....It's clear, if Smith will play tomorrow, so will Shaw play too, no suspension....I still think Smith deserves 1 game suspension for theatrical dive, he would fit to Canucks team...
Is there a deadline for amount of time before the game that a suspension can be handed down? Or can Shanny just suspend a guy anytime so long as its before puck drop?

Get real. He didn't practice today. I'm sure the NHL was in contact with the Coyotes and seeing why they sat him during practice. I wasn't paying too much attention, but others that were at the game like myself noticed Smith wasn't playing the way he normally does(playing pucks behind the net).
You better hope Shaw gets suspended, I would hate to see what Torres has to say about that hit if Shaw is on the ice.

I dont think there is a single Hawk worried about Raffi Torres at this point....seen his act many times prior to this year, nothing to fear at all
