Wild get at least one of Suter or Parise
Draft a d-man like Reilly or Dumba
Re-sign Lats
Make a trade or two for another top 4 d-man
What will probably happen:
Parise and Suter either re-sign with their current teams or with a team like Detroit, Rangers, etc.
We'll draft a forward I'm not a fan of like Forsberg
Lats is let go, only to score 30 goals with another team next season
No trades are made and no free agents are signed

Next year is going to be better. Of that I have no doubt. We knew this year would be tough. I was hoping for a better draft pick but we should still get a good one. I look forward to next year as much as any in Wild history.

Its like you are living in my brain!!!!
But then again, I've always felt that Suter or Parise was pure fantasy, and never going to happen.
But your other points are exactly how I feel. I mean, I would NOT blame Fletcher for letting Lats walk away, given his injuries, but I just know that means he will become a 65 point player for the next 3 years on some other team.
I want the Wild to win the Stanley Cup next and every following year.
That doesn't mean I assume they're going to.
Those... Aren't very similar at all.
PMB continuing to play hockey is much more likely than the Wild winning the Stanley Cup. Also, PMB is the only one controlling whether he returns or not. The same can't be said about winning a cup.
are we assuming butch won't be playing for us next year?
Fingers and toes crossed that he won't. If he doesn't retire this summer, he will after getting hit and sideline either early on or during the middle of next season.
Nope, but we can hope. Trouba is being slotted anywhere from 5-10...
Exactly. I hope we see him in a Wild sweater on draft day... But there's 6 other teams ahead of us which means there's no guarantee Minnesota gets him.

PMB has very, very little control over how his concussions heal. Head injuries are about the least predictable injury in all of...well, injuries. I'd honestly say he probably only has slightly more control over that than I do the Wild winning the Cup. Unlike me, he can make his situation worse, but as far as healing goes he's really pretty goddamned powerless. (Like me!)
The Wild better make some damned moves this offseason, because if we go into next year with no trades made and no free agents signed I am going to be challenging SOH for the title of most pessemistic, and I sure as hell dont want to do that.

Pretty sure we need to make some free-agent signings in order to reach the cap floor.

You'll probably find this interesting. I'm leaning against making a lot of moves this offseason. I don't think this is the year.

You need to take a chill pill and relax this offseason. It's a game. It's one thing to get angry (which we are allowed to do), but it's another thing to blow a blood vessel over every little thing every day. You better prepare yourself now for no Parise or Suter, cuz that's what is going to happen. And yet, the sky isn't going to fall.
Not trying to be a b****, but I'm concerned. It's been a rough season, and we still have a hill to climb. And if you can't find any happiness in the game, then you need to take a step back. Getting this frustrated isn't worth it to your health.
