Gui is heading back to Atlanta to finalize his treatments and being more than 100% he's right now. Good news I'd say.
Awesome News!

Thank goodness ... I thought I was the only person who hates NHL.com. I can't even watch any of the videos on their page as they are too freaking slow.

Gui's almost 100%, awesome. Definitely sign him, we need him back. Also what's the update on Bouch?

Luongo is both overrated and takes too much heat. He's a good goalie, not great, but it's not his fault for much of his past failures.

Why do we keep thinking we need a puck moving defenseman? We have a lot of good defensemen that can move the puck. Not elite but we don't have an elite stay at home guy that can hammer opponents or play good defense. We have guys that can pinch, chuck the puck up, tie them up but we get out muscled and our defense is quiet small.

One of the big problems I noticed last night was that the forwards appeared less effective than they actually were because they were constantly bottled up in their own zone. We need D-men who can get the puck moving the other direction more effectively if we're going to stop being the #30 scoring team.

Simply because well we don't have any. Our offense from the blueline absolutely sucked ass last year, we need more offense from them. We've got plenty of shut down guys. No elite ones, but by committee.

I'm not even asking for offense from the D. I just want blueliners who can get the forwards moving with possession toward the other goal, and who can keep the puck in the zone so we can put on some pressure instead of constantly chasing it back behind Backs.

Gilbert hasn't played an entire season; Spurgeron and Scandella are still young players, Kampfer as well. Brodin is unknown.

I think a full season of Gilbert along with an improved Scandy as well as Brodin being (and Spurgeon of course) a possibility means the offense from the blueline will be fine. I'm not expecting a Suter signing but I think a Carle or Wideman signing would be good.

Agreed. We could use a Carle or a Wideman. But we could use a young Phaneuf or Burns even more

If I were Gui (and completely confident I'm recovered) I'd actually want to sign only a one year deal at reasonable money so when he puts up almost a PPG his next contract is boosted considerably. get it done indeed. Also a one year deal on a team you're guaranteed top six minutes, and not fighting someone else for them.

For the record, that doctor is the same one as who treated Crosby.

Don't worry, it won't happen.

Actually, it's been confirmed he's looking for a short term deal.

Can't wait to see the look on Fletcher's face when Gui puts up 30+ goals with another team if he isn't re-signed.
