Wait until they have to pay these guys in three to five years. Good luck with that.

When this happens, I think they'll get rid of Hall due to injury concerns. They'll have a couple superstars, and a much better rounded team overall - basically they'll be the West's Pittsburgh.

No way. Haven't you heard, he's below average GM.

I hate on how they rank GM on where the team finished. Half the season we were missing entire Top 6 lineups, but you know totally the GM's fault let's see next season when half of our roster isn't on Ir for most of the season.

LOL they won't get rid of Hall. he's their Toews. He's the young guy with by far the most potential in the leadership department and god knows they need that.

Sad thing is we still haven't made the playoffs since. I really don't care how good our prospects are until they prove it where it matters.

Its not like they were perennial playoff contenders before, plus the team kind of hurts when you let the best players walk for nothing.

I could not disagree more.

Dougy R sold the Wild's future to keep the Wild hovering around the playoff bubble for year in order to save his job. That's like borrowing money to pretend like you have more money and wealth than you really do. Eventually, you run out of borrowed money, and you come crashing down hard. You have to pay the piper.

When Fletcher took over the team, we had a barren prospect pool and no draft picks to work with. Aside from the Leddy-Barker trade, Fletcher and Co have done a remarkable job of building up the fundamentals of the Wild.

Except Toews is a great two-way player and Hall hasn't had a positive +/- season yet - even while receiving sheltered minutes.

I'm not sold on the kid. He really needs to work on controlling his skating speed. Every time I watch him, he looks like a baby giraffe falling all over himself.

I would agree that he has leadership qualities, but I wouldn't label him the franchises future captain just yet.

I'm not sure why you're getting **** for this... it's true. Prospects are only as good as the winning seasons they can produce. I'm all for giving Fletch time to develop them, but it's completely true that he hasn't accomplished a damn thing yet.

This is true, however you have to keep it in perspective. It's hard to make the playoffs when you have no roster and no currency to get those roster players. Let's not forget that GMCF has done a good job with our cap situation as well.

I didn't say he hasn't worked well within his circumstances. I just said he hasn't accomplished anything yet.

Everyone is right.

Fletcher accomplished re-stocking the prospect pool - that can't be taken away even if they don't meet expectation. However, now that the Granlunds and Coyles and Bordins are hitting the next step in their development and hitting the NHL his job now depends on the impact the prospect pool makes over the next 2-3 years. The team is still a work in progress (if they lose out on Parise and Suter, Minnesota remains a bottom-end team talent-wise next year) but they have to show some improvement/sign of life.

It's a start but now is time to take the next step.

I do realize that Fletch has done a good job with the tools he was given but just as I said above I am getting tired of the prospect crap being jammed down my throat. I understand it is the teams job to sell a product and make people interested but I am a hockey fan and don't need that crap. Just win some games period.

Theoretically everything Fletcher has done so far should start making an appearance this year. If there's improvement, it shows we're on the right track. If not, Fletcher might be looking for a job come next season.

Pretty sure his contract was extended past next year.

I'm not worried.
From our last Blackhawks game this season.

Can't remember if someone else posted the Boogaard New York Times article somewhere else but the Strib has an editorial on it.
