Quick will prove to be a better net minder than Lou .
Note to King fans going to the games...You need to yell out and remind the Nucks that the water is frozen...They seem to think it is a swimming pool.
Sorry SoulReaper...You are a good fan and stuck with your team to the end last year.
GO KINGS !!
Or they could tell that to Brown and Doughty or hey how about some of the folks on the Bruins roster? They seem to have been pulling 10/10's all season!
I've come to the conclusion that if the Kings win it'll be because Quick is better than Luongo and that'll be how most people will view it, but if the Canucks win it'll be despite how Luongo got outplayed by Quick.
Kinda sad how I can call out the series post-mortem 2 days before game 1 even starts.

Easy tough guy - we as Kings fans are tired of explaining again and again that the offensive problems from before the trade deadline are no longer an issue, when people are just lazily looking at the Goals For column on year-long stats and making cut-and-dry judgements.
I don't accept your calling me out in that way. SLang is the one who was being the internet tough guy - I responded in kind. And I looked at the numbers. I think its intellectual laziness to assume that only the past 20 games matter because they give you the data you want. Your points about Sutter, Carter and the young kids is duly noted, and might turn out to be valid. But I'm hearing the same thing. I WAS THE FIRST TO ADMIT that the Kings are a dangerous team who could potentially light it up. I picked them to win the Pacific back in October.

Using the last 20 games is not some arbitrary cutoff point - it represents a real, fundamental change in the dynamic of the team. Besides the addition of Carter, our big boys King and Nolan had only been called up 7 games before, and - I believe but can't prove - Sutter increasingly began molding the team more in his image. After all, he was brought on board in the middle of the season and had to go through a feeling-out period.
That's what you hope, but I'm not sold either way. I'll believe it when I see it.
Kings remind me of the Canucks in 09-10. We played against the Hawks with a much improved team with a better goalie on paper but still couldn't get the job done. Like what the kings have but they're going to fall short again in 6. Too much depth n the Kings are a slow slow team. That will be the ex factor in this series long with depth

Il echo what ray Ferraro said this morning about the kings offense.
It's not as bad as it was before the deadline, and not as good as it is now. Somewhere in between.
The last time these two teams met the Canucks utterly shut down any kings attack.

If at any point in time the Kings are leading in wins in this series. your boy Luongo will be sitting on the bench.
Kings fan here -- on the poll, I said Canucks in five. But it's not because I think the Canucks are as much better a team than the Kings as their record would indicate. Take the CURRENT Kings against the CURRENT Canucks, and it's a tight matchup when it comes to overall skill.
My concern with the Kings is more about "mental toughness". This lineup, even post-Carter-trade, hasn't shown the ability to consistently bear down with a lead, or to come back from behind in a game -- and Quick can only do so much, even if he does hit one of his superhuman streaks.
Until this team DEMONSTRATES that it has that mental toughness, it will always be the thing that makes me the most nervous about them. Hope for the best (the upset), but I'm prepared for the worst (the five-game loss).
It was a close fought one goal game where Quick being a bit off just once made the difference.
But the Kings out-shot and out-chanced the Canucks there. If they can continue to do that, they'll be fine. I wouldn't read too much into one game.
It's true. A seven game series is a whole different ball game with physicality, match ups, familiarity, momentum and injuries playing more of a factor. But I think the Canucks experience will help them in all of the above categories (injuries are a bit of a crap shoot), and should get them through this series.
