Apparently NBC will be broadcasting all playoff games this year (regional broadcasts rounds 1-2) and they will be using CNBC. Pretty cool time to be a hockey fan.
I think regional broadcast are only in round 1 with the new TV contract...but you overall point is true...I love that I can pick and choose which game I want to watch.

yea, I don't know how the Canadian contract works...I doubt CNBC in Canada would be able to show any games..Mute point anyway, as none on the Bruins games will air Nationally on CNBC.

Just an FYI for Bruins fans --- while it is true that the new television contract bumps local telecasts after the first round (something that I think none of us like or appreciate), as they did last year, NESN will have complete one hour pre-game shows and complete thirty minute (at least) post-game shows for EVERY Stanley Cup playoff game. When Jack and Brick are no longer calling games (because we are all hoping and praying the Bruins play past the first round) they will swing in to help out with our pre and post-game telecasts. No one --- and I mean no one --- will have more comprehensive pre and post-game information than NESN (and it has little or nothing to do with the genial host!). Here's hoping we're all together for the next two-and-a-half months!

Dale,
While we appreciate when you come on here with good hockey opinions, I don't think many of us like when you come on here with advertisements!!

Will NESN be streaming the Pre/Post Game shows online for us Canadian Bruins fans?
no no no, that's just a river in Egypt. This is legit. Just sell your shares to all your friends and relatives and have them working for you by them selling to their friends. You'll have enough to retire on in ohh, 6-9 months tops. 18 months if you only do it part time.

No advertisement intended --- okay, maybe a little one. Just wanted to make LOCAL hockey fans aware of LOCAL hockey coverage even when the networks muscle their way in. I will not slink back to formulate some hot hockey take for a future time.
pre and post game coverage be damned (I'll watch whatever is available at this point) I'm just thrilled to be getting 6+ straight hours of hockey basically every night for the next couple of weeks. Crossing my fingers for a ton of OT games to watch, nothing better than playoff OT.
I just emailed HNIC to voice my displeasure.
I asked this in the other thread and noone really answered me and I see a bunch of fellow Canadian pals posting in here.
Basic cable in toronto, up to channel 60 or whatever, no digital box where the tv listings are on Channel 5, anyone know if we get CHEX or are we getting screwed out big time. Its gonna suck hooking my laptop up to my tv and streaming the games!
