Los Angeles was labeled as a Cup Favorite coming into this season... how can they be a darkhorse?

A better choice would be Nashville or Phoenix.

Based on seedings and match-ups.

Because their the 8th seed.

I wouldn't say NSH is a dark horse, they seem to be a top favorite, IMO.

the rangers weren't even close to being picked as a #1 seed pre-season, does that make them a darkhorse?

The Yotes are 8-2 in their last 10 regulation games.

After that 5 game losing streak where they came off that 6 game win streak.

The Yotes can certainly be unpredictable as hell.

If they can have that run they had going 11 out of 12, then who the hell knows right?

Capitals in the East.

New Jersey, Chicago. I expect both teams to make the conference finals

Probably because they're up against the PT winner. Standings usually determine "darkhorses" and LA is hardly looking to be the cup favorite they were predicted as.

Florida, because that would be awesome. Ottawa and San Jose as well.

Calling the Devils, with 102 points, a dark horse is pure ignorance. The same applies to Chicago.

Capitals and Sharks. Both are past President Trophy winners. Both have been in the playoffs for a while now. Both have had tough playoff disappointments. You never know what you are going to get with these two teams and how they might perform. It might finally be there time..

I think at this point Jersey has been called a dark horse so much that they're no longer a dark horse.

I'm scared of every team in the playoffs. Los Angeles is an 8 seed, Washington a 7, NJ a 6, SJ a 7, any one of them could make it to the SCF and I wouldn't be surprised.

Honestly think that L.A. could force Vancouver to six or seven, so who knows about them?

SJ and Caps.. the ones that many predicted before the season would dominate.
