Rinne Records Rare Double-Double
I thought this was interesting. Lundqvist is still going to get the Vezina, though.

Rinne has had a huge workload with 11 games played more than Lundqvist. Still having such a great numbers and all that, I would give the Vezina to Rinne

Rinne deserves the vezina.
You wouldnt give Vezina to Elliot over Lundqvist. It's pretty much the same comparison with Lundqvist over Rinne.

Rinne will be lucky to be nominated. No chance at winning it.
And I don't think the preds writers know what a double-double is

Double double meaning leading the league in wins and points scored by a goaltender.

Wouldn't a double-double have to be like 10 saves, 10 hits, or something?

Hey now, I didn't write the headline
But yeah, you guys have a point. It wouldn't be a double-double unless both stats were double digits. Either way, he's had a pretty good season. It could have been better, but I think part of it comes from Nashville not playing so defensively this year. We are seeing the real Rinne as opposed to the Rinne slightly aided by a defensive system

Yeah, that's not enough for a double-double.

Point noted, but I still think Lundqvist takes it

Lucky to be nominated? That's a stretch. He'd be lucky to win, but he will be nominated.

What?
Lehtonen should've won it last year, had 6 assists.

So to cater to the Canadian audiences he should have a gigantic coffee photoshoped into his glove?

I mean, the poster has a point. Elliot has great numbers, but he has only played 38 games with 36 of those being starts. Rinne has 73/72 and Lundqvist has 62/62

Oh I definitely think he'll be nominated alongside Quick and Lundqvist but it would be a stretch to say he should win.
His time will come but it's not this season.

I'm sure some lonely man has them recorded somewhere, but it isn't an official stat that you can find on NHL.com or anything like that.

I think Smith has a better case than Rinne as the third finalist. Save percentage difference is huge between the two.

The Vezina is going to Lundqvist, no question about it. That's no snub against Rinne, who cares about individual accomplishments anyway

Possibly, but the Vezina and the Norris seem to be cumulative prizes more so than individual season prizes. It'll be an interesting vote for sure

Nashville reaching here to pimp out its guy...but interesting nonetheless. Even though, as others have pointed out, that isn't a double double.

Doesn't change the fact that their version of "double double" doesn't even make sense. What exactly is double about that stat except for the fact that the wins are in the double digits?

What a pointless article. Who cares which goalie leads the league in assists?
