Hi guys, Flyers Fan here coming in peace and seeking some help.
Firstly, Congratulations on making the playoffs and drawing the sharks.
Every year i make a playoff pool in which every player on every team is selected. There are always some fringe players who might play and might not play and since i am not so familiar with playoff teams other than the flyers it is always difficult to predict which players will dress for game one.
So if you could help me out, please give me the Game #1 playoff line up for your team (ie. Line 1, Line 2.. etc) including defensive lines and for you guys.. who is your starting goalie LOL that has me so confused bc both your guys are solid.. any help would be greatly appreciated.
with the way that Hitch has been shuffling the lines over the past week or so looking for a spark to get this team back on track, I don't know how much they'll change, but there are some very sure things that we do know.
Round 1 Playoff Discussion: (2)St. Louis Blues vs. (7)San Jose Sharks
I figured since we have a little layoff until the playoffs start we can have all round 1 pre series discussion here.
Personally I see the Blues taking it in 6 and NHL 12 agrees with me. Just ran a playoff through simulator got this
Canucks defeat Kings in 6
Blues defeat Sharks in 6
Blackhawks defeat Coyotes in 4
Redwings defeat Predators in 7
Rangers defeat Senators in 5
Capitals defeat Bruins in 6
Panthers defeat Devils in 5
Penguins defeat Flyers in 4
Blackhawks defeat Canucks in 6
Blues defeat Redwings in 7
Rangers defeat Capitals in 7
Penguins defeat Panthers in 6
Blues defeat Blackhawks in 7
Penguins defeat Rangers in 5
Penguins defeat Blues in 7
Would obviously like the the finals to end differently but if this happened I could go into the summer happy thinking about this teams future.
Honestly though I can see San Jose giving us trouble if we go into the first round with our recent efforts. Despite the fact that we have owned them this year they are still a very talented team and just like Halak, Niemi has shown that he can go on a tear in the playoffs.
This is where Hitchcock really has to earn his money. He's got to make a lot of right decisions for the Blues to win.
Guessing that Halak is the goalie unless he falters. No need to rotate in the playoffs.
No doubt, he needs to not only get this team back to where they were at the all-star break but then take them to another level all together. A lot of people have mentioned how they think Stewart will breakout in the playoffs but I think it going to be Berglund. Just a feeling I got.
The players will hate this wait to get the playoffs started, but I'm sure Hitch has plenty to keep them busy with after recent performances.
I'm certainly not taking this series for granted, but I'd rather not be heading to San Jose twice. If we can lay the way we did against them in the regular season, I don't think they have an answer to play to that kind of play. As long as we don't do it in a stupid way like the Kings did...
I have to agree....anyone who pretends to know what the starting line-up will be is just guessing. I do think Halak will start, but it could be either guy.
Nervous. Hopefully we find that other gear, because you know the Sharks will have one. It's doesn't help that two of my friends are huge shark fans. Hope we can pull out of this series a winner.
