Halifax has much better puck movement with Kharlamov, Taylor, and MacKay backed up by Mark Howe. Siebert and Reardon are good with the puck on their sticks too.

What kind of system did the Soviets play in the 60s and early 70s? I always assumed it was five man hockey, but BBS said they did a lot of line marching in 72 (different coach though).

Seattle will play a left wing lock and their first unit seems well equipped to hinder Halifax's transition game.

Major mismatch in goal, at least in the playoffs

Yeah, this is a really interesting matchup. Phillips locking on the top unit with Savard and Thompson on the blueline looks strong, but holy crap can Halifax bring it on their top unit. I can see Kharlamov, Taylor and Howe ripping through that lock with pure speed and skill.

babe siebert was also very fast. he jointly held the montreal forum's lap time record until it was broken by hec kilrea.
