I am not so sure about that, I think they have similar skillsets and upsides.

The major reason as to why Rocco received so much hype was due to the program he was playing for last season [and the season's before]. Grimaldi led the U.S. National Development Team in scoring so of course he was going to get a ton of publicity and attention from scouts.

Johnny Gaudreau tore apart the USHL for a lesser recognized program, so I think what he did went a little unrecognised by many.

I found out Grimaldi tore his knee and has only played 4 games this season.

Yeah, he did. It forced him to miss the WJC's as well.

Yeah, what was up with that? It's one thing to be religious it's another to be aggressively pushing it to others.

How about packaging the #14 and trading up?

If the Flames keep the pick, Tera would be a nice selection.

We had been getting better with our drafts the last few years but last year literally every pick looks like a pick for skill over size and need something we haven't done in a while. We usually have a safe pick or two but last year we kinda said **** it and drafted 100% on talent.
Speaking of gaudreau did anyone see his goal in the NCAA championship game? Which he and Arnold's team won.

The final draft rankings are released, Dumba is ranked 11th in NA skaters

In no way do I see Dumba falling to us. It would be something of a miracle for that to occur.

No one expected Fowler to fall to Anaheim or Couturier to Philadelphia either. Seems someone falls every year.

I want them to take one of the following 4 forwards:

Gaunce
Pearson
Teravainen
Girgensons

Not sure how much choice they'll have but I'd imagine atleast one will be available

I like Gaunce and he is most likely our pick but to me he seems safe and a Sutter type of pick. If a forward with a larger upside but more bust potential is available I think I would go with him.

What is Gaunce's upside?

Second line center but if he is a bust he is most likely a third line center.

Ah, then yeah I most definitely welcome a high risk high reward pick. When we have top line talent set in place, we can go for the safe picks

We gave enough safe pick depth players to last a few more drafts, we still need impact players so I'd go with another skill risk pick. Teravenen looks good!

Wow. Button's mock at the end of the lottery show as brutal. Almost as brutal as Edmonton winning the lottery to draft 1st for the third straight year...

Pathetic joke of a franchise. Tambellini grinning so hard because he got three 1st overalls. He should be out of a job by now.

Must be awfully cold in that basement for the last 3 years.

I like the mock draft where we get Faska still!

I'd be pretty happy if we got Faska, but hasn't he been compared to Gaunce too?
