Glad you put the can't decide option up there. All I know for sure is we're very lucky to have the three of them. Especially all three playing at the same time. Now if Vinny can go an entire season without injury...
Voted for Vinny 07 partly because that year was when i first got interested in the Lightning and Vinny and Marty became a couple of my favorites and also partly because the votes fr him were so low but in reality it is very close and the best option is prolly cant decide. Also i didnt really see much of St Louis at all in 04 aside from the later rounds of the playoffs.
I know Marty got all the hardware and the cup in 04 and Stammer got historic 60 goals this year but Vinny in 07 (and the first half of 08) just looked to me to be so damn dominant. In 07 Lecavalier also had to go up against the entire Crosby hype and a peak Thornton whereas i would say in 04 St Louis' peers at forward were by and large not having their best year and a similar thing this year (except Malkin) goal scoring wise for Stamkos. I do think Vinny was the best player in the world that year.
It's so close. You could make an argument for all three of them. But I went with Vinny. He was the best player in the world back then. He got the goals, he got the points, he was physical, he was dominant - the whole package. The MVP line was one of the greatest lines ever to watch play and Vinny and Marty were a constant threat on the PK too.
But as I said, it's so damn close. Maybe tomorrow I would have voted Marty. Or Stammer.
I voted Marty due to smaller stature, clutch and grab era and Stanley Cup year. If the league didn't lockout to break up our Cup team we could've won at least back to back. Lol
